I held Sara closely. I could hardly stand to see her like this. I had worked so hard to get her back after her first phase of darkness. I thought I hated Marino before and wanted to kill him for flirting with her. Now I couldn't control the disdain I felt.
I couldn't believe he would do this to her. He was beyond a monster, but I knew I had no choice. I had to talk to him, settle things, and make peace. If I went in there guns blazing, Sloan might pay the price for that. I wouldn't make Sara go through that. It now went against everything within me, but I knew it had to be done.
