Chapter 10: Home (2) ***  “I’ve always hated my black eyes… they seemed so colorless compared to the other kids that had such pretty brown or green ones… but why… why did he say they were pretty?” Elizabeth wondered to herself, it was one of her biggest insecurities, yet the man didn’t make fun of her for it… ‘They suit you…’ Gabriel’s words were replaying in the woman’s head. Unknowingly making her blush as she laid in her bed. Somehow the night seemed longer than usual and Elizabeth barely got any sleep for the next day… * * * “Good morning! I made breakfast this time… since you said the maid usually does it.” Gabriel said as he served the fried eggs and beacon he made. “A typical American breakfast!” He said enthusiastically. “Haha… only in movies and cartoons…” Elizabeth said with a small giggle. She walked to the table and noticed the man had prepared even more things. 'I wonder how much time it took him to make all this... I'd never be able to pull this off on my own...' She thought to herself, not to mention how well the table was organized, it almost didn't seem like a regular breakfast. “Yeah well... it's still really delicious so I hope you like it. Oh I made you a salad as well, since you did mention eating light... then yet I probably shouldn't have made so much food anyways...” Gabriel somehow went roundabout in circles as he spoke, he felt just a bit unsettled or maybe he was simply awkward. 'Alright... don't stare at her too much... don't stare...' He repeated to himself as he laid out the items on the table. Both of them sat down to eat... "Do you have any plans for today?" Elizabeth asked as she tilted her head to the side. Somehow she seemed to be a bit nervous when asking the man that very question. 'Why does it feel so weird all of a sudden... he just complimented my eyes but I can't stop thinking about it...'  "None, why?" Gabriel asked with an interested voice. He leaned foward to listen in as if the woman was about to tell him some gossip. "I was thinking we could go out again..." Elizabeth said as she picked up her fork. Begining to move her food around the dish as if she wasn't really ready to eat anything at that moment. "Why, you got another date? And so soon at that?" Gabriel was a bit surprised. 'Who would have known she's in such a hurry to get a boyfriend... I don't quite understand it myself...' He thought as he put his fork down.  "Yeah, he's from this dating app I'm on... It's called 'Loved Only TM' and you know... it might be fun like yesterday..." Elizabeth said with a bit of a blush that spread across her face, though it was so faint that the other probably didn't notice it at all... 'There's no way I can tell him I spent half the night scrolling through matches just so I wouldn't think about him...' Elizabeth thought to herself as she began eating the beacon that was served. It wasn't the typical food she enjoyed, especially not so early in the morning but it wasn't bad either... a nice change of pace to her usual routine. "I don't really mind but... Who am I going to go with? I can't just third weel you two..." Gabriel said as he held back the urge to laugh, he felt a bit pathedic at that moment. 'Does she really need to date that badly... I thought things were nice just the way they are... the two of us...' It would be a lie to say the man wasn't at least slightly jelous... Thoughts in his head along the lines of: 'Why can't it be me?' would swurl around his mind time and time again but he'd always hold back the urge to say anything on the matter. After all what right did he have to say anything in the first place... none... "Ah... Well Becky a friend of mine from a lawfirm wanted to me to help her meet someone. I showed her a picture of you and she instantly fell for it." Elizabeth remarked in an uncharacteristically enthusiastic voice of hers. "Huh? Where do you have a picture of me from?" Gabriel asked, almost chocking on his food. He never took any pictures with the woman nor did he remember her taking any of him. It was a strange situation to say the least. "Didn't I tell you? My friends snapped a picture pof us while we were working behind the bar that day... She sent it to me, here..." Elizabeth quickly explained as she took out her phone and showed the picture to the man. "I guess I might have forgot to mention it... Sorry... do you want me to delete it?" She asked. "It's really no problem... and its such a really nice picture. It would be a waste..." Gabriel said as he looked at the picture carefully, of course it wasn't himself he was looking at. 'Lizzy looks so pretty... and she's in my work clothes... I guess this happened right after I spilled that drink on her...' He thought to himself. "It is, isn't it? Do you want me to send it to you?" Elizabeth suggested. "Yeah, thanks..." Gabriel quickly replied, he really did want to keep the picture for himself as well. 'I guess it doesn't hurt to have something like this...' He thought. "Hey... if this Becky girl is your friend, why wasn't she at the bar that night?" Gabriel questioned. "She's not that close with Jolyne who's getting married in a month... Um... I guess they had a falling out since they used to know each other so well and hang out a lot before." Elizabeth explained. It wasn't a difficult question, she just wasn't completely sure about the answer so her reply was a bit slow as if she was trying to hide something. "Eh... seems complicated..." Gabriel remarked. 'Then yet it's not like I'm in any position to judge them...' He thought to himself considering his own friendships weren't that incredible either...
