Chapter twenty two : The Deathly Game

  (Gill) (M.Big hit) (Zhoei) (Bernie Zarr vs Dragon)

 The Togu City Tournament, the second round of matches taking place at the Amritzer Stadium, is now almost at its peak. Of the 8 participants who will take part in the match in that round, 6 participants have finished their matches, namely Gill against Tatsui, Master Big hit against Azter, and Zhoei against Ajora.  Now there are only 2 participants left to fight, namely Dragon against Bernie Zarr, and their fight will also end the series of matches in the second round of the Togu City Tournament, then after that, the third round match or can be called the semifinal, will be immediately held in that same day on the afternoon. Which will bring together 4 participants who have successfully passed the second round, that day.

 There is a time lag of about 15 minutes, before the fight between Dragon and Bernie Zarr will begin.

After some time, the Host started announcing that the Tournament had started again. “The next battle will start soon !! Namely a battle that will bring together Dragon and Bernie Zarr as opponents. That battle is the final battle of the second round of the Togu City Tournament which is being held today ... Without waiting any longer, let's watch the battle between Dragon and Bernie zarr !! " The Host said to the entire audience.

 Then after the names Dragon and Bernie zarr have been summoned to enter the arena. Their arrival was immediately greeted by loud applause from the audience at the Amritzer Stadium. They all looked like they couldn't wait to witness the battle between those two people.

 A blacksmith who can summon unlimited daggers, will face a famous plant mage, who can create and bring forth various types of plant monsters. Everyone who was watching their fight either in person or from home, looked so curious, who between those two person would come out as the winner, then have the right to advance to the semifinals?

 Dragon and Bernie Zarr were already standing on the battlefield, they both looked at each other without saying a word. Because Bernie zarr is the quiet type, while Dragon feels awkward to start a conversation.

Then after the referee announcing that their match had started, Dragon immediately brought up two daggers in his hand, while Bernie Zarr started talking to Dragon.

 “Wait a minute shall we?? ... The power you have is quite interesting. I felt some kind of ancient magic from the gold plate on your shoulder. But still, your magic power is no match for me ... I could have defeated you in the blink of an eye, but it's no fun. How about we make this battle even more interesting? ” Bernie asked Dragon.

 Then the seeds turned into vines that were ready to wrap around Dragon's body. Those roots went straight towards Dragon swiftly. Dragon's body would be twisted and then slammed down, as was the case with Chap Blaze, in yesterday's match. But Dragon immediately grasped the two daggers in his hand tightly, and then he slashed at the vines, quickly.

 With alacrity, Dragon continuously slashed the vines while making evasive movements. Chopping down the plants that were protruding towards him, was indeed an easy thing for Dragon, so he could overcome that first level well. Then seeing that, Bernie said. "Okay, now to the next level."

 Bernie started throwing again a seed that was slightly larger than the previous one, the seed immediately turned into a cannon-like plant ready to shoot out poisonous sharp spikes.

 But again Dragon was able to deal with the attack from Bernie's plant deftly, he deflected every thorn that slid at him, using the dagger in his hand. Bernie is a little impressed by Dragon's skills, because Dragon can move his body agile to be able to block and avoid attacks from his deadly plants.

 "Then, to the next level again." Said Bernie as he threw the seed beside him, then the seed turned into a green leaf petal which was enormous and wide.

 "What the hell?" Dragon said.

 “Do you know how a mosquito feels when it is hit by the palm of a human hand? You will feel it soon! ” Bernie Shouted to Dragon.

 Then without Dragon being able to answer, the leaf petals immediately flicked itself down towards the direction of Dragon was. So quickly, Dragon jumped back somersault to avoid the impact of the leaf, which would smack him hard on the floor, until he crushed.

 The clap of the leaf petals, was able to produce a strong wind wave, so that Dragon's body fell backwards after he flipped, then his body was pushed and rolled to the edge of the arena.  After seeing the Dragon who managed to survive, the audience continued to look at the fight very seriously, they were very enthusiastic and curious about the monster plants that Bernie Zarr would release next.

 Meanwhile, Gill spoke to himself, "Looks like it's not easy to get close to Bernie zarr." Gill said.

 "Hmm. Are you trying to cheat? Didn't I tell you, if you manage to defeat all of my monsters from the weakest to the strongest stages, then you can only attack me, and have a chance to win. " Said Bernie.

 "I think you're the one who cheated. Didn't you say that the two fighting plants just now were the next level? Then that means you can't use those giant leaf petals anymore, since I've passed that level. ” Dragon said.

 "I don’t care." Said Dragon, who was in a collapsed state while panting heavily.

 "Each level will have more and more difficulty, and the next level is now near you." Said Bernie. Suddenly those words made Dragon shocked.

 Then ot’s true, suddenly, a plant appeared that burst from under the surface of the floor near where Dragon was laying, making Dragon very surprised, then he immediately jumped to his feet.

 The plant that appeared near the Dragon was a cactus type plant, about the size of an adult human, and equipped with sharp spikes all over its body. As soon as Dragon was in a standing position, the shocking thing immediately happened again, the cactus plant started to deliver a punch towards Dragon. But swiftly, Dragon managed to avoid the attack.

 "Welcome to the next level. Namely, my master cactus plant, which can attack in two different ways. ” Said Bernie Zarr.

 "What?" Dragon said while avoiding the blows from the thorny cactus plants that were nearby.

 Then After trying hard to avoid the deadly blows of the cactus plant, which could even crush the floor. Dragon immediately flipped backwards to get away from the quite troublesome plant. But suddenly, as Bernie zarr said earlier, the cactus plant can attack in two ways. Namely by hitting, and the other way is by shooting all the thorns all over his body towards the opponent, who is none other than Dragon.  So Dragon just take the risk and resisted the attack by crossing his arms to cover his face. And finally the prick of the thorns hit Dragon's body, mostly on stomach and hand, which must have been so painful, that Dragon's body was dripping with blood. Then after the cactus shoots all of its thorns at Dragon, the cactus body immediately shrinks and withers.

 Then Bernie said, “Shots from close range are hard to avoid, aren't they? Heheh. " Bernie said with a slight laugh.

 Dragon growled while enduring the pain. With a serious look he turned towards Bernie. It looks like Dragon's emotions are starting to rise. Then Bernie continued. “I gave you time to remove all the thorns that stuck in your body. After that you will face the next level. I'm Was nice, right? " Said Bernie with a smile.

 Then not long after, the thorns embedded in Dragon's body were all removed and scattered around Dragon's feet. Feeling angry and slightly embarrassed, he continued to stare at Bernie as if he was holding back his anger. The opponent he was facing right now was not an opponent that could be defeated by sword fighting or fighting techniques.  Then without warning, Bernie Zarr's giant plant immediately waved his hand at Dragon. But quickly, Dragon avoided it by jumping to the side. The impact from the giant plant's hand caused the floor Dragon was standing on just now to be shattered instantly, as if it had just been whipped, by a giant whip.

 Then lash after lash was flung towards Dragon again, so with great effort, Dragon tried to avoid the attacks, which would be fatal if they hit his body. The floor of the arena where they were fighting turned into powder after taking the whip's repeated attacks.

 Dragon who was getting overwhelmed because he had to keep running and jumping over the lashes, decided to immediately take out the magic rope from the small pocket behind his waist. The magic rope had the ability to lengthen and shorten by itself. Dragon tied the rope to the handle of the dagger in his hand.

 "I've been trying to get close to you, but there are a lot of annoyances. So now is the time! " Dragon shouted at Bernie.

 Bernie was a little confused, because it was clear that Dragon was currently hanging, and would soon be crushed by his monster. Then something started to come to Bernie's mind. That is, it was possible that Dragon was planning to flop near Bernie, since Dragon was clearly on top of him right now.

Because at that time Bernie and the monsters really didn't know where Dragon was, or what he was doing. Therefore Bernie felt scared and anxious.  Actually, since the beginning Dragon really wanted to use the glare ability possessed by Melinda, then targeted Bernie, as the person who played an important role in controlling the plant monsters, even before Bernie invited Dragon to join his game, that plan was what Dragon wanted to do.  But apparently, Dragon was already behind Bernie while pointing a dagger towards his neck, therefore Bernie couldn't do anything else, because he was already in a cornered position, by the threat from Dragon's dagger. It seemed like Dragon was waiting there as soon as he managed to crush the giant plant's head, he waited until the vines protecting Bernie's body finally disappeared. After that he could easily point his dagger at Bernie. Then Dragon spoke.

 "So you thought that I was going to target you?" Dragon asked with a smile.

 “Ye- yes. Looks like I miscalculated ... I instead ordered my monster to protect my body with all its hands, and i don’t know that it will turned out to be like this. " Explained Bernie.

 "As you say, I have successfully passed every level of monsters you served me. So that means I can win, right?" Asked Dragon.

 "Yes, that's the rule ... But I didn't think that you could defeat my biggest and most dangerous monster." Bernie said.

 “You said that your monster is big and dangerous? ... Yes, I agree. That your monster is indeed big, but when it comes to being dangerous ... Myself is much more dangerous. " Dragon said, briefly.

 It turned out that the Dragon's words were able to make Bernie goosebumps. “So what do you want me to do now? Do you want me to give up? " Asked Bernie.

 Not long after, slowly, the thick smoke that enveloped the arena where they were fighting, began to fade and then disappear completely. And finally the whole audience can see again what is happening there. Everyone was really shocked because they saw the many monster plants around Bernie that were ready to be used against the Dragon.

 But what was no less surprising was that Dragon was already standing behind Bernie, holding him with the dagger that he had placed near Bernie's neck. This made Bernie unable to move and do anything else. He really looked pale and trembling, because it turned out that he had not managed to make good use of the opportunity Dragon had given him, to counterattack Dragon with his full attack, and now he was in a corner again for the second time. Whereas the plant monsters that he had just created, were just staring at their Master who was being held hostage by Dragon.

 Then Dragon spoke while still holding Bernie's body. "I already know such tricks.
