Something about riding a horse was refreshing, and it was even better with Micha. I laid my head on his back with my arms around his waist.
"Where are we going?"
"We need to make you blend in."
"I thought I already did that?"
Micha chuckles, "You've seen the women out there, haven't you?"
Yeah, I did, and they looked more robust and more rigid than me...
"So what else do I need to do?"
Micha glances over at me and smiles at me, not saying anything more. We finally stop at what looks like an Oasis. Micha slides off the horse, then he helps me down, "So are you going to tell me why we're here?"
"Well, for one, no one likes it here, believe it or not, people here aren't obsessed with pretty things. They see this area as an eyesore."
"Your kidding? This place is amazing," I caress the bark of a dark wood tree. It reminded me of a Willow tree, there were plenty of them here, and they did make a good cover. It was like a mini forest, making me feel more comfortable.
Micha starts to head deeper into the small forest, "Follow me," he gives me his hands and follows behind him. This felt so surreal, being here with him, and if I didn't know better, I would think I was dreaming.
"Close your eyes," he says as he stops; I do so with a smile on my face," Now look."
As I open my eyes, a lagoon of glistening blue water is revealed, and I feel a warmth in my chest. It had been a while since I had been in my Element, too long.
"Oh, Micha," I slowly walk towards the water as if the tide was pulling me in, and I happily let it. Soon I'm halfway in the water. I cup my hands, pool the water within them, then slowly lift it into the air, making tiny water bubbles.
"Well, look at you, little water spirit," Micha chuckles; I glance over my shoulder then push the bubble his way, "What are you doing? Ah!"
I giggle as the water splashes on him, "Awe, look you; you look like a wet cat."
Micha wipes the water from his face, "Well, you could say we have similarities."
"Don't you like the water?" I ask.
"Not really, but I know you do, so that's why I brought you here."
"Why don't you like the water?" I ask as I swirl my hands on the surface. Micha rubs his neck, "Let's just say, we don't get along..."
I pressed my lips together to try not to laugh, "Do you not know how to swim?" Micha's face starts to flush after I unveil his secret.
"Micha! Really?"
"What? It's not like there's a big ass ocean here. I technically don't need to know-how," he says as he removes his wet robe.
"Wanna learn?" I offer.
"Nope," Micha says as he slicks his hair back, sitting on the bank. I swim up to him, "But what if you need to swim to save your own life?" I ask playfully, raising a brow, then I inch towards his ankle.
"Emery, don't you dare."
"Oh?" I continue to snake my way up the bank and let the water surround his foot.
I giggle, "I wanna know the best way to learn?"
Micha glares at me, but I could see a hint of a smile on his face, "To dive in," as I said this, I had the water tug him by the foot and pull him into the water.
"What is this thing!? A water serpent?!" Micha shouts as he tries to shake me off as he's pulled in.
I chuckle, "Nope, just me."
I pull him into waist-length, "f**k! It's cold!" He shouts, "I want out, I hate it-" he starts to walk up to shore, but I bury his feet in the sand until he stops.
"Ah, ah, ah. Not until you learn how mister."
Micha crosses his arms on his chest as he looks at me, "I'm not getting out of this, am I?"
"Nope."
Micha sighs, then I notice his eyes drift over my body, and I suddenly feel flushed," Hm, this kind of style fits you," he says as he caresses my arm. I've never felt my heart beat so wildly in my life, and to think with only a tiny touch; he could make me feel like this. I swallowed hard and looked away from him.
I tucked my hair behind my ear, but something wasn't right. Why was he becoming tenacious all of a sudden?
"What's wrong, Fae girl?" Micha asks, tilting my chin to face him, "Scared of being alone with a Demon?"
What? He knew I wasn't afraid of him? Wait a minute, I gasp, realizing what he's trying to do, "Oh! You slimy son of-"
Micha covers my mouth, "Oh, that's a nasty word, don't say that," he chuckles.
I rip his hand away, "You're just doing this, so I'll want to run away from you!"
"Hm, is that so?"
"Yes! You hate water!"
"That I do."
"Admit it!"
"Alright, alright!" He says with his hands up in defeat, "Just don't drown me..." he says in a pitiful but playful voice.
"I would never drown you; you can trust me," I said, and this time I got close to him, "Hold you're breath," I whispered before dunking him underwater. He pops back up, "Hey! I said they don't drown me!"
"I gave you a warning, and that was for trying to fake your feelings, mister!"
Micha wipes his face, then chuckles, "Who said anything about faking?"
I felt my heart falter, "Huh?"
"I wasn't faking anything," Micha says, gazing at me
I was almost at a loss for words. He wasn't faking how he was looking at me? No one's ever looked at me that way before; it made me feel like I was the only girl in the world. I want to think that could be possible, but I'd hate to get my hopes up.
"Have you ever looked at anyone else like that?" I asked, holding my arm.
Micha chuckles, "Are you trying to ask if you're the only girl I'm interested in?"
My heart hurt. It was beating so fast, "I-Uh, I don't know..."
"If that is what your asking," Micha closes the distance between us, "then the answer is yes."
I could feel myself smiling like an i***t. Finally, the guy I liked for so long likes me back! Ah! This is so amazing!
"So...can I make a request?" Micha asks, with a sly smile on his face.
"What?" I ask, with my arms folded on my chest.
"Please let me out," Micha says; I playfully push him.
"Come on, I'll help you overcome your fears," I said.
"Have Mercy!" He shouts as I gently push him further. I hadn't had this much fun in a very long time, and in the back of my head, I knew I'd have to return home soon. But even if it was just for a day, I wanted to believe I could stay with him like this forever.
