Walking into the kitchen, I found Lorelei and Patrick discussing everything.
“Hey,” They jumped with fright at the sound of my voice.
“Oh, my goodness!” Lorelei grabbed hold of her chest. “I thought the two of you were still out.”
“So, you knew?” I frowned.
“Yes, I saw you portal out.” It hadn’t taken much for me to grow fond of Lorelei and I gave her a hug which seemed to calm her down a little.
“All this is so damn scary and overwhelming.” I felt utterly frustrated.
“Sit down, son.” Patrick patted on the seat next to him. “Being the Light is not easy, but being her protector is even harder. You have to watch her put herself and her body through all of this.” Patrick tried to explain it to me, but I think I already got the gist of it all.
