LILLY’S POV Even though MAX wouldn’t tell me what was happening I could tell something was wrong. I wanted to ask him and find answers but we had already fought and I didn't want to provoke him any further. I didn’t want to continue disrupting what could have been a good day. So I opted to just keep my mouth shut and ears open because at the end of the day, whatever was happening involved me. We finally arrived and the boat was beautiful. I had never been on a yacht before, but this was more than I could have imagined it to be like. Everything that Max owned was just overflowing with wealth. When I first met him, I never knew he was this wealthy, and he never told me he was. He had given the impression that he was just some small-time club owner who was struggling to make it. This was something that I could have never imagined. However, the amount of money in his bank account couldn’t made me love him any less because, for me, it was love at first sight. I didn’t want to fight with him anymore, I loved Max and wanted our relationship to work out. Although he still refused to tell me exactly how he felt about me, I knew in my heart of hearts that he loved me just as much, if not more, than I loved him. He probably had his reasons for not being comfortable expressing that love in words, but I was willing to wait for him to open up to me when he was ready. Bali was a very beautiful place, and I also felt like it was also very spiritual. There were a lot of temples, and Max had taken up the role of being my tour guide. He had taken up the task of telling me what I needed to know about Bali and the history of some of the temples. I wondered if he knew this because he had been here before or he had done his research to impress me. I hoped this was all because he was trying to impress me. After all, I appreciated the effort he was putting in. I jumped from one tourist sight to another for the next coming days and the more I saw the more I wanted to see. I was even ashamed of the fact that I had been so against this trip when I first found out about it. However, I was relieved that Max wasn’t holding it against me. “I have a special night planned out for us tonight,” he said as we got back to the villa after a long day out. “can’t we just sleep in, I am so tired’ I yawned. “I know, but what I have planned for us will be more relaxing for you,” he said “take a shower and be ready in ten minutes. I just have to discuss something with Luca” he said “aren’t you going to shower?” I asked him “I will, but we both know who takes more time to get ready between the two of us,” he said with a wink and then kissed me on my forehead before leaving. I quickly took off my clothes and got into the show. I may have been tired, but I knew that whatever Max had planned for me was going to be good. Max wasn't romantic, but he knew how to make me feel special. After I was done bathing, I put on the red silky nightgown that was placed on the bed. Max had picked out a nightgown for me even though we were supposedly going out. I wondered why he would want me to wear that. However, I put it on without any questions or complaints. Max did take a quick shower while I was getting dressed. He didn’t say much to me and seemed to have a changed mood after he came back from his meeting with Luca. I figured there must have been intense, I was curious, but I knew by now that he would never tell me what it was about. When we finally drove out of the villa, he seemed to have a change in his mood once more and seemed to be back to his normal self. He also seemed to be excited about whatever he had planned for us and was certain that I was going to love it. He seemed to drive deeper and deeper into the forest until we finally reached an old bridge. “What are we doing here?” I asked him with a little bit of panic in my voice. “We are having a picnic,” He said with a smirk, and I looked around in disbelief “ON an abandoned bridge?” I asked him, and he chuckled. Right then a man emerged from the bushes. I ran and hid behind Max, and he laughed again. “Is this even safe?” I asked him with more uncertainty “Baby I will never do anything to put your life in jeopardy. Can you trust that?” he asked me as a huge swing that looked like a house came to a stop right in front of us “Are we going in there?” I asked him and he nodded excitedly "Thank you so much for this” he thanked the man who had emerged from the shadows. “you will have a lot of fun on this ride. You will get to see the jungle at night time. People usually come here in the morning for the ride and spend the day here, but you guys will be here for the night. I will come and wait for you here tomorrow at 9 am” he promised with an accent “What if we get here first?’I quickly asked him, still unsure of everything that was going on here. “Don’t worry about it, we open at 7 am so there will be someone here. My shift will begin at 9 am” he said, and I nodded slowly. He could see that I was uncertain and uncomfortable, so he turned to look at Max who nodded in reassurance. After that the man helped me and Max get ready and got us inside the hut-swing. It was beautifully set inside and was much steadier than I had expected it to be. I awkwardly sat on the beautiful king-sized bed and waited for Max to tell me what was going to be next. He came and sat next to me before taking me into his arms and kissing my forehead. “Relax…thus will be fun” he assured me and then nodded at the man. The swing started moving slowly, and it took a lot for me to finally relax. When the guy who helped Max organize this told us that we were going to see the beautiful jungle, I was a little skeptical because it was dark. The moon was shining bright but I didn’t think we would be able to see anything other than trees which wasn't much as fast as I was concerned. However, I soon realized that wasn’t the case. There were some night lights that were lit inside the jungle, making it easy for us to make out the different animals. I had never been much of an animal lover, but this was beautiful. It was almost as if we were on an airborne bone because we were hovering above the water and could see the jungle from a bird's eye view. “IS this beautiful?’ Max asked me, and he hugged me from behind and started kissing my neck “It is the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen. I can’t believe that this was what you were planning all alone, I mean I love it but are you sure this is safe” I said as I tried to look down at the water that was reflecting the moon and I could hear him chuckle. “instead of focusing on what could go wrong, why don’t you just focus on this moment? Focus on the beauty of the view and me holding you" he said, and I sighed turning around to face him. “thank you,” I said kissing his lips gently He wrapped his arms around me so tightly as if to say he was never going to let me go. I loved that, it made me feel safe and secure in his arms, it made me feel untouchable and as if nothing could ever do wrong. As long as we stayed like this and had each other. I was startled by my phone vibrating in my purse. I reached for it and saw that it was an email from my landlord “well that’s weird’I said as I opened the email app on my phone. “what is?’ Max asked me as he moved closer to me inspecting my phone. “My landlord sent me an email, there is an attachment of the picture and she is demanding I come back home immediately," I said, and Max clenched his fist. He snatched the phone from me and threw it out into the water. “What the f**k Max?’
