Chap 7: A weredragon girl

“Where am I…?”
Galen opened his eyes. Everything had become an unknown space covered by darkness. He tried to call Frank, but the only thing that responded to him back was the silence. The only resource of the light was from his body itself. He was glowing a soft white light, but he currently looked very deformed, like he had turned into a standing slime.
Galen tried to knock his head to remember the last thing that happened to him. But sadly, his memory had become an emptiness. At this moment, the fear slowly rose to him. What is just happening here! He shouted.
Suddenly, Galen was stunned when he could hear the voice of a little girl. Her shadow image just appeared from nowhere and hugged him. Wait… Galen was sure, he had never seen this girl before!
But Galen had to admit, she looked very adorable with long silver hair and a simple silky dress. Her bright ruby-colored eyes looked at him with a smile.
“Mama! I’m home!!”
At this moment, Galen was like: “Wait… Wait!!! Who is your mama??”
Galen shook his head. He really didn’t understand what just happened. Or his memory had been damaged so badly that so he never know that he was actually a real girl. After panicking and calming himself, he looked at the little girl in front of him. It was clear, he didn’t remember who she was, perhaps she was mistaking him for her mother.
“Uhm… hey, little one.” Galen felt bad if he rejected this such innocent girl, he rubbed her hair and said slowly “Actually, I’m not…”
Suddenly, inside Galen’s head, he could hear a voice of a woman.
“Oh, welcome home my dear daughter, have you been hungry yet?”
“Mama, until when can I become the mature dragon?? I want to evolve now!!”
“Ara ara. It will be a very long time, my daughter. But, I think if you try your best, you can evolve into a mature dragon in just 1000 years.” The woman spoke in his mind again and said to the little girl “But why do you want to evolve so soon?”
“I want to grow up faster. So I can protect you, sister, brother from Azeas. I hate how he is bullying all of us…”
“Oh right… I’m sincerely sorry, my daughter. You were born right at this such harsh time.” Without Galen’s control, his hand rubbed on the little girl’s hair “Don’t worry, daughter. Once you grow up, I believe you will become the greatest dragon ever.”
“I will try my best!! To save Frelanna Forest!!!”
All in a sudden, Galen heard someone calling him from afar and the light shined directly to his eyes that dazzled him. Even the image of the little girl got melted away by the impact of that light.
“Galen… Galen! Wake up!!”

At this time, when Galen slowly opened his eyes for the second time, he could eventually feel back his arms, his legs, his body. So everything he just experienced was just a dream. But it was the first time he found a dream was so real, that almost mistook him that dark space was the true reality.
The first thing that showed in Galen’s vision was the trees of the forest and the refreshing breeze blowing to each piece of his skin. It meant… he was still in the forest last night. The dawn began raising up, so the sky was becoming brighter and brighter. Galen could recognize the main character of this such beautiful scenery, it was Frank. But wait… who was this second one? Galen didn’t remember he had seen this girl before.
And most important question… Galen remembered he was severely injured by the wolves last night. Now, they had been healed as if nothing happened?
“Oh, you woke up?” The cute face of the girl approached his face. Galen thought their lips almost touching each other, she then smiled to Frank “Haha do you see, Frank? Galen will wake up soon.”
“YES! Thank you so much for helping us, my friend!!”
Galen was confused about what just happened during his coma, Frank already rushed to him. His fluffy body was hugging Galen.
“Uwahhhh! Damn Galen! This is the second time already!! Why do you keep making me worry that you have died?!”
“Oh… Hi Frank. I’m fine actually hahaha. But last night, everything couldn’t be helped… Those wolves were so aggressive that I thought I could have been killed…”
“Well, glad you are still alive, Galen. I think my debt with you also got paid back as well.”
At this moment, Galen just noticed the strange girl beside him. He wanted to say thank properly so tried to wake up and talked with her. But his head suddenly went spinning as the first second he tried to lift up.
“Aye, don’t rush!” The cute girl said with widely opened eyes and pushed him down “You just woke up so take your time to recover first.”
“I’m very sorry for bothering you, Lady. And thank you for saving my life.” Galen said. According to the conversation between the girl and Frank, he could be sure that it was her who had been taking care of him when he was unconscious “Would you like to give me your name? One day, I’ll payback.”
“Aye, don’t mind about it!”
The girl looked at Galen. He was fascinated by her odd-colored eyes, one red and one blue. However, she was very cute, maybe around his age as well. She was wearing a simple white dress which revealed the smooth skin of her neck. When the girl approached him… she smelled so good! Galen thought while blushing. He then noticed the flower attached to her long pink-colored hair that touched her waist, slightly flying by the wind. It was Gallette, a special flower having an amazing scent. This flower never existed in Tredia territory, so Galen guessed she might come from another country.
“But I can recall you something, hehe! I was the dragon that you saved me a few days ago!”
Something just hit right on Galen’s memory. He remembered now! So she was the dragon that he used to rescue earlier!!
“So it was you! The dragon in my palace’s forest!!”
Galen wowed. He couldn’t believe the dragon that he rescued was actually such a pretty girl like this!
“My pleasure to meet you. I’m Galen and I’m… I’m an adventurer!”
“Aye, hehe! Frank told me everything about you! So you were the expelled prince from Tredia Kingdom and now become an adventurer.” The girl giggled “Nice to meet you too. My real name is Liana. Like you, I’m an adventurer too and I’m a weredragon.”
Through 15 years of life, Galen had never read any document about anyone who was weredragon – a hybrid between human and dragon. Galen was wondering how can a race like Liana existed, but she already guessed the question from his face and answered already.
“Actually, saying weredragon is the general way to name our race. In reality, each kingdom will call us by a different name so it’s alright if you don’t know anything.”
Liana wagged her heart antenna while explaining, Galen understood. Because there wasn’t any united document about weredragon since they were very very rare. It explained why Galen never knew about them at Tredia Kingdom.
“Weredragon is hmm… basically they look really alike with elves.” Liana shoved her elven ears “But you can distinguish an elf and a weredragon by checking if they have this one or not.”
Liana then showed Galen and Frank by lifting her hair up. They could see something looking like a crystal attaching directly to the skin of her nape. It looked like an oval jewel, had a size of a thumb. But how fascinating it was, it sparkled a red color with weird patterns moving inside.
“That thing is called Dragna, the source of life of every dragon. The color of the Dragna will decide which element of the dragon.
If you see a red Dragna like me, they are fire element dragons named Flamerus.
If the Dragna has a golden color, they are earth element dragon named Galarius.
If the Dragna has green color, they are wind element dragon named Sabatorus.
And the last one, the blue Dragna, they are water element dragon named Aquarus.”
Everything had made sense and Galen could learn so much interesting knowledge, Galen sparkled his eyes. Then, there were so many questions that he would like to ask Liana about the dragon as well.
“Liana, can I ask, can every dragon turn into human like you?”
“Not at all.”
Liana answered. She really loved talking about dragons, so she kept wagging her antenna non-stop while saying.
A weredragon would be born if their parents were human and a weredragon, or they both were weredragons. Usually, not everyone can live longer than ten years if they were born as a weredragon. Only certain of them were strong enough to stay survive more than 50 years, even 1000 years or immortal depend on each individual’s power. Liana also revealed that currently, she was 14 years old as well, so she was laughing in confidence at she was stronger than almost weredragons in the world.
It hadn’t counted that there would be never have any chance a human and a dragon fall in love with each other, especially in this situation where dragons and humans are now enemies. That was why, weredragon was very rare and they aren’t much document talking about them.
“That’s interesting.” Galen said in admiration “Anyway Liana, you won’t be scared if you tell me everything about you right? Like one day… I could betray you and bring you to the Palace.”
“Aye! It’s simple! Because we weredragon also have a special ability too. We can see any species’s aura energy color to distinguish who is a good guy, who is a bad guy!” Liana laughed in confidence again “I can say myself that in this such corrupted world, this is my first time to see bright aura energy like you: That greenery from your aura color really dazzled my eyes you know?
You also rescued my life earlier. So I trust you, Galen.
Oh, by the way, Galen, do you want to adventure with me? Having you as a healer, we can journey around the world while protecting each other! Please, please!!”
That was amazing! Galen gave a relieved sigh and smiled. Of course, having a powerful weredragon like Liana accompanying an inexperienced adventurer like him, would be super beneficial for him as well. Also, his journey wouldn’t be alone anymore!
Galen didn’t mind the candy eyes of Liana. Even she didn’t do it, he would accept her request anyway.
“Sure, Liana. I hope we will be best friends too!”
“Yayyyy!”
Liana screamed and jumped around. The emotion of the weredragon connected with the Dragna as well. So when she was happy, the Dragna shined bright at her nape.
Galen then panicked when seeing the fire began spreading in each of her footsteps.
“Liana… Liana!!! Fire! You are burning the forest!!”
At this moment, Liana just noticed the fire began spreading in the forest.
“Kyaa!! I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry!!” She panicked, didn’t know how to do.
“Galen!” Frank said “Try to heal them!”
“Okay!!”
Galen seized his hands to the ground, focused transferring his aura energy to the ground while mumbling “please, help me healing them…”
Miraculously, Lina’s fire slowly disappeared and the trees had been healed. Not only that, Galen’s healing magic also impacted the surrounding plants, pushed them to grow faster than their height reached to Galen’s knee and the flowers bloomed everywhere.
“Wow!! What is this fabulous magic?? It’s my first time seeing this!!” It was Liana’s turn wowing and sparkling their eyes “Galen, you are so amazing and talented!!”
“That fire earlier just caused the smoke...” After done, Galen called Liana “Liana, we have to get out of here before Tredia Patrols found us here!”
“Understood! Let’s go!!!”
Liana’s body shined bright and became the white shadow. She transformed into the dragons and asked Galen to climb up.
Eventually, Liana and Galen flew out of Tredia Palace, head forward to the cloudy sky and they decided to escape Tredia territory. Galen doesn’t know how far he would journey, which direction he would go first. But from now, with Liana, his adventure officially began beyond the boundary of his homeland.
Meanwhile, Frank was suffering holding Liana’s tail.
