I can't believe I'm doing this. I really didn't want to be the girl in the prophecy. I don't like to be the one who gets to decide who dies and who lives. You guys might be wondering, what is this prophecy? I'll tell you. It goes like this.

On the first shift of a special she-wolf

With fur the color of pure silver

And sapphire swirls around itself

Shall be given a mate much older than her

He will be the shield that will protect the girl

For someone with ill intention has a plan

That will endanger the life of the pearl

By neither ally nor enemy at the center

Fail and she goes back empty-handed

Creepy, I know. That's why I never wanted to be that girl. I will decide the fate of the pack. Everything rests on my shoulders. But there is no choice for me now. I need to do this, or I'll lose my family all over again.

I looked at them and asked the question again

"Where do we need to go? What exactly did the voice say?"

Bella answered, "She said that we need to go west, to the forbidden caves. We have been monitoring that cave ever since we knew about the prophecy. There are no current activities, whatsoever. She also said that you will know the way from there."

"She also said that to me in my dreams. That only I can pinpoint her location. But I will need help from my mate. What else did she say?"

"That you are only allowed to bring six wolves besides the two of you. That is why we are here. We and our mates will assist you on this journey." Adam

"I still don't approve of this plan. You need wolves that help protect you from the threat. Your generation doesn't have that kind of experience, and you lack the training. Especially you, Luna. You weren't trained for combat." He must have been Blaze's dad because he can't seem to sit still beside him. He's actually afraid of him.

"And exactly how do you know that? Have you seen me fight? Do you already know what I'm capable of? Yes, I wasn't trained with the rest, but I was trained by both my mother and father. Why don't you ask your son what he did to me during lunch today."

He looked confused at first and asked Blaze what he did. Blaze just looked at me for approval.

"Go on, Blaze. I already forgave you, though you still owe me a cheeseburger."

He sighed heavily and told everyone what he did and what he observed. After he said that, they all stared at me again like I just grew two heads. They need stop doing that, it's getting on my nerves. Claude must've felt my agitation because he took my hand and played with it to distract me from the situation. I inhaled a deep breath and I immediately calmed down.

He definitely calms me down. I'm getting addicted to it already. Someone cleared their throat and I came back from my musings.

"I must say, I want to see for myself if it is true." Alpha Daniel

"Of course, you do. You saw through me yesterday, no wonder you want to see it yourself. But can we do it tomorrow, on the training grounds? Pretty please, with a cherry on top?"

"Because to be honest, we are going nowhere right now. Is there anything else on the agenda that needs me?"

"If there is none, I want to go to bed already. My wolf is throwing a tantrum already, she needs me to sleep early so she also has endless energy the next day."

"Can't she sleep while you're awake?" Bella

"No, we are one. If I don't sleep, she doesn't as well. If I don't eat, she starves. She can only take naps but not deep slumber, and that is what she needs. I get a headache whenever she throws a tantrum, and she sometimes kick me in the head. If you'll excuse me."

I stood from the table and looked at my mate to ask for leave when he also stood. I looked at him weirdly.

"Shouldn't you stay here and finish your discussions?"

"Actually, we are only here because of the quest, not the siege preparations. Since you're leaving, we will also be leaving."

He's right, the others were also leaving and saying yheir good nights to their parents.

"Sera, please arrive at the training grounds at 8. We need to see what you are capable of before we let go to the caves. We also need to assess the skills of your chosen comrades for this journey. Sleep well, future Luna."

I nodded my head and left with my mate and my friends.

"Well, that was fun."

"Doll, you seriously have a twisted definition of fun. That was frightening." Annie

"So you were just pretending to be afraid of the crowd. Hmm..." Mira

"I wasn't afraid of the crowd, I just don't like being the center of attention. I really hate being stared at. I'm not that different you all, right? I'm just the girl who will decide the fate of the pack. No big deal."

My voice was full of sarcasm. I really hate my situation.

"I just hope I actually get to fight this time. Once I get the adrenaline pumping in my system, I need an outlet to let that energy out. If I don't, I will faint just like today. Blaze got me excited for no reason. Hmmp."

"Sorry. I'll buy you two cheeseburgers tomorrow, Luna."

"Please call me Sera. We're freaking friends, right? And I'm not yet the Luna."

'If you're thinking about us not having to mate yet and me not marking you yet, we can do it tonight if you want.'

I blushed at the thought. I won't give him the answer. I just ignored him and kept on walking until we arrived at our room. Sh*t. I'm sleeping with him, on the same bed. What to do?
