Lilith’s Point of View
I could feel the vibration of my phone in my pocket as I crossed the room. Jackson was getting on my last nerve. I really wanted to tell him off, but in case it was important, I wanted to see who had messaged me. I rarely got calls or messages.
Emily: Just checking in. I hope that everything is going okay.
Lilith: It’s okay. Jackson is annoying, though. 😡
Emily: Lol, is he now? He is so much like his father. 😂
Lilith: What is that supposed to mean? 😯
Emily: In high school, everyone wanted River Foster except Sage. Well, she did, but Sage rejected him. He chased her, and she eventually gave in. They have quite the epic love story.
Lilith: Sage has three mates. How could she and River have an epic love story?
Emily: Don’t judge. Their story isn’t a quick one to tell. Get to know them, and you’ll see it for yourself. Jackson may be annoying, but ask yourself why that is.
Lilith: Sure. Whatever. Emily, that makes absolutely no sense!
Emily: Oh, but it does. Trust me. See you tomorrow. Remember to have fun! 🥰
I tried to remind myself to enjoy the moment. Easy enough, right? I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, determined not to let Jackson's flirtatious advances bother me. Emily's words echoed in my mind, urging me to have fun. It was sweet of her to text me that reminder. My mom used to do the same thing when I needed some reassurance. Somehow, she’d always known when I needed her.
Jackson decided to be an ass and pick a game that only the triplets could play until Axel spoke up. How he told his brother off and complimented Jackson in the same breath was epic. That earned my respect and attention.
I decided to ignore Jackson and have fun and had a blast. A couple of hours had passed before I even realized it. We were laughing and having too much fun. I could feel Jackson watching me as I played, but I didn’t pay him attention.
“We better crash,” Jax said when he saw me yawning.
I tried to argue that I was fine, but another yawn escaped before I could stop it.
"You are always welcome to stay over another time," Axel replied with a grin as he playfully messed up my hair.
I should have been annoyed by the gesture, but somehow it was endearing coming from Axel.
Maybe Axel would become my best friend, just like Juniper was Jax’s best friend. It would be awesome not only because Axel was a great guy but also because it would bug the twins.
“Do you want to race?” Juniper asked Jax.
“You know I’ll win,” laughed Jax.
I looked at them curiously, trying to figure out what they were going on about.
“It’s Axel and Jackson’s turn to clean up down here. Juniper and I did it last time. We usually race to see who can make it up the stairs and to the guest room first,” Jax explained.
“That doesn’t seem fair. He’s a football player,” I exclaimed.
“Oh, we’re not running. We teleport,” Juniper laughed.
“I propose we make it interesting this time. I think you should take Lilith with you, considering she’s never teleported before,” Juniper grinned wickedly.
“I don’t think she would be comfortable with that,” Jax said nervously.
“She’s going to have to get used to it hanging out with us, and you’re the best at it. Are you ready?” Juniper asked, her eyes dancing.
“Do you want to … you don’t have to,” Jax mumbled, looking very uncomfortable.
I rolled my eyes and groaned. If this was something they did often, Juniper was right. I was going to have to get used to it. This was a short distance anyway, so how bad could it be?
I mumbled my consent as Juniper pushed me into Jax's embrace, and I could feel his muscular arms wrap around me. Suddenly, we were gone from the room and in front of the room I was staying in. A moment later, Juniper appeared beside us.
“Even with Lilith in your arms, you still beat me! How is that possible?” groaned Juniper.
“I’m just that good,” smirked Jax while Juniper rolled her eyes.
“Well, goodnight, you two!” Juniper said and went into her room.
I realized all of a sudden that this was definitely planned, as I was still in Jax's arms once Juniper closed her door.
As I stood close to Jax, I couldn't help but notice how good-looking he was and how amazing he smelled. I felt kind of flustered, realizing I was into my new friend, and the whole situation was pretty awkward.
His gentle fingers brushed against my cheek, giving me goosebumps. The chemistry between us was undeniable, and I couldn't help but admire his gorgeous eyes. Before I knew it, Jax leaned in for a kiss, and I just went with it, getting lost in the moment. His lips were so soft, but things quickly heated up as we kept making out passionately.
I wrapped my arms around Jax and pulled him closer, craving more of his touch. His hands started wandering lower, and our bodies pressed closer together. I could feel very clearly how hard Jax was, and I was pretty wet myself. This unexpected kiss with Jax was unlike anything I had ever experienced, and I didn't want it to end.
I pushed him into the room and leaned against the door, my body trembling with anticipation. His kiss had awakened a desire in me that I couldn't resist. I beckoned for him to come closer. In just two strides, he had me pinned against the door with my arms above my head, kissing me with intense passion. I never would have guessed Jax had this side to him.
It had been a long time since I had made out with someone like this, and I wanted more. As we kissed, I was able to push away the painful memories of my parents and the worries about starting over in a new place. In that moment, nothing else mattered except for being with Jax and feeling his touch. When he loosened his grip on my hands, I eagerly ran my fingers through his hair and explored his body. The sound of his muffled moans only made me want him even more.
Just as I got into the moment, a sharp knock on the door shattered my focus. Frustration immediately washed over me, and I hastily tried to compose myself before answering.
Juniper's voice came through on the other end. She apologized for interrupting and reminded me about the pajamas she had promised to lend me.
Jax put a finger to my lips, silencing any words of annoyance that may have slipped out. He then kissed my hand before disappearing. I couldn't help but sigh, feeling conflicted about how things were progressing. I went from being annoyed that he was staring at me and trying to flirt to almost getting naked with him. Maybe it was a good thing we got interrupted, giving us time to think about what we wanted—friendship, friends with benefits, or something more.
