introduction
Destiny’s cursed child – Title Writer – Sharmistha Introduction: This story is a woman’s journey and tells her story of grit and determination and hope. She that is Surbhi a born optimist gets up after every fall and resumes her journey of life. She is let down by family and friends and has never experienced true and loyal love. She is continuously blamed for every failure of hers and is never respected in life. Yet she rages on with a shattered life and heart. This is not my autobiography but incidents have been inspired from my 50 years of existence in this world. Surbhi is my brainchild and her journey is her destiny which is often blamed on her. We all our caught in the circle of our stars and whether you accept it or not. Hard work does not pay if the stars don’t support you. Surbhi is a living testimony of the fact. Surbhi is born to a middle class family of a civil servant. In her childhood she is a pampered child loved by her parents and two elder brothers. From her childhood she is a fat child in total love with food. She is also a very popular girl in her class loved by her classmates and teachers. Her life was a child’s dream until she gave her tenth standard final exam. She failed in her tenth exam and ugliness of life started unravelling itself. At this time her family supported her and she thought she had the best family in the world. Next year she passed the exam with flying colours and took admission in the same school in eleventh standard. New class new people. The classmates were rude and did not befriend her. She was alone and lonely. She latched on to two girls of her class who did not want to be friends with her. It was the worst two years of school life. Anyways it passed and she passed her 12th std with flying colours. She went to study at the country’s best college and stayed in hostel for 3years. This was the happiest moment of her life. She had friends who were nice and warm. Her stars did not favour her again. Surbhi from a very young age had always been ridiculed by friends and strangers for being fat. So she suffered from a complex and always dreamt big that she had got a big job and the most handsome man had fallen in love with her. She never worked hard for both. She never even got a decent job. She did not study much. When all her friends were busy with higher studies. She was lying to everybody about the big job she had. The worst was making fool of her family that is her parents. She did not realise that how broken they might have felt when truth came out. It came out as her roommate from college told her mother that everything she says is a lie. The roommate was not doing a favour she was always jealous of her. It did not stop for her and jumped from one lie to another. She met the best people of her life in New Delhi but never used it to her advantage. W hile her friends and class mates were going abroad for better life and career she was busy living in her make believe world and most importantly making a fool of herself. In those years she totally messed up her life. She started eating pan masala and was always craving for food and cold drinks. Money was always short so she started borrowing and asking from innocent parents. There was never proper guidance from anybody and she went from bad to worse. Life played its most cruel joke on her.
