Chapter ThreeAt dinner Yvette Joyant monopolised the conversation and made it very clear both to Una and to Philippe Dubucheron that they were too unimportant to be of any consequence. The Duke listened to what she had to say with a cynical smile on his face that made Una feel that he was in some ways rather intimidating.
