Chapter 9On my way home, I was delayed by a back-up on I-80. A real bad accident had traffic stopped or slowed for miles, and traffic was moving at a crawl. It took twenty minutes to get around with sheriff's police directing traffic. While waiting I checked messages on my phone. My aunt had left me a message that my car had been fixed, and was in the drive. Once home, I was happy to get back into my familiar ride. Noting it was nearly three o'clock, I decided to swing by my aunt's bookstore Books 'n' Such. “Hi, Lainey,” my aunt greeted from the register while ringing up a customer with their purchases.
