That afternoon, after telling my mom about all that had happened at the party and looking at her puzzled face which told me she didn’t know what to think about what had transpired, I decided to go out with Kyle, to spend some time together –and to know his opinion too.
Neither my mom nor Kyle knew about my old crush on Ethan but I didn’t find it relevant to confess it now.
It was all in the past. Was it not?
“I don’t know what happened with Ethan yesterday, do you?” Do you think he likes me? That’s what I wanted to ask really but refrained from doing so.
“Oh well, it looks like he finally opened his eyes,” Kyle shrugged.
“What do you mean?” I questioned.
“You’ll know what I mean soon enough,” Kyle winked at me, a mischievous look in his eyes.
I looked at him, puzzled, not knowing what to think about what he was insinuating but wanting to understand more. “Kyle!” I exclaimed. “Don’t leave me hanging.” I whined, adding a pout to my lips for double effect.
A small smile stretched his lips at that, and then he leaned down to deposit a soft kiss on my cheek, making me blush. “It’s not my story to tell, sweetie.”
What story?
What was it about Ethan that had me so intrigued by him and so attracted to him at the same time? Despite the years, it looked like my feelings hadn’t vanished completely.
But then, there was Claire. And even if Ethan had some kind of sentiment towards me, I was sure she wasn’t about to leave us alone.
Did I want to be left alone with him? I wondered.
Oh yeah, so he can have his wicked way with you. My dirty mind started conjuring steamy images featuring us both.
“Oh, and sweetie?” Kyle called out.
“Yes?”
“Make him sweat for it, babe,” he said, with glinting mirth in the depth of his eyes, before he started chuckling.
