Chapter 18 – Not going according to plan. Austin Jacobs POV “Grandpa I’m sorry I just wanted to know my daddy.” I say to my grandfather after he scolded me for creating trouble for my mother. “Austin why would you want to know a man who wasn’t there for you, when your mother worked so hard to give you everything you’ve ever wanted?” My grandfather asks “Grandpa you won’t understand you had a dad growing up, I didn’t have that, and my mom and dad wants to be together. I warn you grandfather if you interfere in this I will never forgive you!” I shout “Is this what your precious father taught you to raise your voice at me?” my grandfather asks “Okay that’s enough from the both of you.” My grandmother says I nod walking up to my room. I wasn’t in the mood for supper, my grandfather made me lose my appetite. I got to my room and got onto my laptop. I wanted to see what my parents were up to. They were sitting in the living room speaking there was no audio, but I could see they weren’t speaking about something sad. I checked the other cameras in the house. When I noticed someone sneaking around upstairs. She was looking in draws in a guest room. What shocked me most was that there was audio in this room. My mother must have installed these cameras because there were never cameras in the bedrooms. I watched her silently. She didn’t say anything just looked around the room. I saw Mary enter the room and tell her dinner is ready. I switched the camera to the one downstairs. The dining room Camera had audio, we barely use the space so it had audio. They were sitting having supper no one said anything. I heard my bedroom door open. I looked up and saw my grandmother walk in. “Hey sweetheart, I brought you supper. I’m sorry about what your grandfather said, he didn’t mean half of it, it’s just that when your mother and father started dating your dad wasn’t a model citizen and yes your mother helped him be a better person but your grandfather never got over the first time he saw Tristan. And I’ve seen your father grow I know he’s a good person and I’m proud of the man he has become. Your grandfather has seen your mother cry and she was heartbroken after you father joined the army. Your grandfather is just scared of seeing your mom like that again. I’m not saying what he said and did was right, he thinks his protecting your mother” Grandma says I was going to answer when I heard my uncle’s voice booming from my laptop. “Little sister” he says I look down seeing him enter the dining room. He hugs my father “Good to see you bro, up for COD after dinner?” he asks I watch as my mother looks at her brother angrily. My mother sat on the right side of my father and my uncle sat on the left. The strange woman sat across from them and no one has looked at her throughout the meal it was as if she wasn’t even there. “You will not be playing anything! Aaron why are you here anyway?” mom says One would think that my mom would be scared of my uncle but my mom was really scary and stuff. “So why is Tristan here little sister?” my uncle asks “Aaron Jacobs you better shut your mouth!” Mom shouts My uncle didn’t respond. “Austin why are you watching your parents?” Grandma asks. I forgot she was here so I jumped up in surprise. “I really want them to be together Grandma.” I looked at her with pleading eyes. She hugged me “I know, I know you do baby” she says “Dude did you come back to warm my sisters bed?” we heard my uncle say and we both looked at my laptop screen My father started coughing, and my mother didn’t look happy. “Who is that?” my grandmother asks pointing at the lady. I shrug my shoulders, shaking my head I had no idea who that was. My grandmother left soon after and I watched them eat the rest of their food. I however kept my eye on the woman, I didn’t want to let her out of sight. Especially after the way she looked at my mother. I watched as she went to the spare room again. I turned the audio on when I saw she was making a phone call. “Amber its me” …………. “Look here a change of plans we won’t be able to meet anymore because Agent Wilder Has me babysitting his lost puppy” she says I narrow my eyes on her. I sent my mom a quick text telling her to check the camera in the spare room “Aaron was here tonight se says” she says Why does she care about my uncle? “I didn’t speak to him or get close to him. He didn’t even look my way yet alone speak to me” she says I smile, does she want my father or my uncle? Either way she’s not good enough for either of them “I’ll try. But I can’t make any promises” she says What is she trying? She greeted her friend goodbye. She went into the bathroom and I switched off the camera I didn’t want to see an old woman naked. I called my mother. “Do I even want to know why you are watching her?” mom asks “Nope. Mommy I don’t trust that aunty she is planning something.” I say honestly Something about that woman just gave me the creeps. “I know sweetheart, don’t worry she can’t do anything without me knowing about it first. I need you to stop watching the feed and go to sleep I have everything covered over here okay?” mom says “I had a big fight with grandpa” I told my mother Mom sighs “About your father?” mom ask “Yes…” I say “Baby don’t speak about your father in front of your grandfather okay? I’ll handle it okay? Promise me you will go to sleep now?” she asks “Yes mommy” I say “I love you baby. I’ll come and visit you tomorrow okay?” mom says “Yes mommy, I love you too.” I say Mom hangs up soon after. Mom didn’t say anything about her and dad getting any closer. Should help them get closer? What if I plan my own k********g like the last time, that would make them miss me together and comfort each other, I could go and live in my mother’s apartment in downtown LA. That would be awesome. I pack a bag and take my laptop together. I jump out of the bedroom window and disable the security system. I booked a cab to the apartment and I was on my way. But I noticed that the cab is not going in the right direction. “Where are you going? I asked to go downtown” I said “Well little boy, I’m not taking you downtown. You’re coming with me.” The man smiles evilly “Do you have any idea who my family is?” I ask him narrowing my eyes at him “Has anyone ever told you how much you look like your father?” he asks I nod. “You’re taking me to get back at my father?” I ask slowly I didn’t want to make any sudden movements unless I knew the whole story “Well yes. You’re one smart boy. Who was dumb enough to use his father’s surname when booking a cab.” He says I was so excited about taking my father’s surname I haven’t even asked him yet. I am just so proud to be his son that I had changed most of my social media accounts names to Austin Wilder. I didn’t know my father was chasing bad guys that would use me as leverage. I refused to speak after that. I wanted to help my father and helping him would be me finding out more about this guy and giving my father enough information to bring this guy down. I remember from when I was going through my dad’s case files there was a guy named PENNIMA. “Are you Pennima?” I ask “Ahhh its seems Wilder does speak about me in the Wilder household.” He says laughing I rolled my eyes and ignored him. I had to my help my dad take this guy down.
