While they ate their bagels, hers toasted with butter and his just with cream cheese, she broached the subject.
“So, you know Naomi and I have both been planning to leave Los Angeles sometime in the near-ish future. We’ve decided to go ahead and move to Wildlife Ridge. In September. This September.”
He’d stopped chewing towards the end of her sentence, and now he sped up so he could speak, which nearly had him choking. She waited while he drank some coffee.
“When did you decide this?” he finally managed.
