Chapter 9 The elevator ride down from Jake's parents to their floor in the building was uneventful. Eva was grateful to note how Lois and Caitlyn had smiled at her like they'd understood. She probably should have told them or fessed up sooner. She’d known Jake was a hero, but had feared losing him and the comfort of what they had.
