Chapter 2 Eva Evans had adopted a chic, business style after her marriage to Jake which had included a fashionable bob to her once-long hair. She adjusted the Peter Pan collar on her white button-down, and, fingers trembling, tucked the shirt into her gray slacks. She looked down--darn it. This was the third time she'd missed a button. Today was clearly not her day, but it had to be, there was no choice. She shook off the doubt and finally managed to fasten the shirt correctly. No more delays.
