Verain Pack
A knock accompanied with a voice behind the door interrupted Emily who had been busy clearing out the kitchen.
“Dearest Emily, are you home? It's Daisy”
Emily reached for the door knob as she opened the door to welcome her best friend and partner in crime.
“Dee, You look ravishing!” Emily said as they shared a warm embrace and they both walked into her sitting room.
Daisy and Emily have been friends almost all their lives. They seem to know each other’s dark secrets. They were like twins from different mothers.
“I feel like I've missed out on way too much of the happenings here in Verain, my mom's health became even worse. I had to stay back with her a little longer,” Daisy said looking so worried and frustrated.
“I feel like we're going to lose her soon, and I'm as worried as hell. Not just for her but for my siblings.”
Emily reached to her and hugged her so tightly. “I understand you perfectly Dee.”
“Please breathe.” Emily said. "Your mom's going to be fine and things will go back to normal soon, I mean even sooner than you think."
Daisy’s mom has been through a lot taking care of all her children. After she had Daisy, it took her donkey years before she had three more pups. Worse still, her husband have not been present to help raise the kids. The burden's been so much on Daisy and her for such a long time.
“You'll be fine Dee, the moon goddess is going to make everything make sense for you dear.”
“Thank you Emily, your hugs are so therapeutic!” Daisy smiled as she pulled out of Emily's hands.
“Enough of me, I need all the gist,” she said with a smile, as she immediately changed the topic. “How's Elena?” She asked, looking deeply into Emily's eyes.
“I mean, any news on her? Is she still alive? And how's Victoria and Edward? Are they getting along well? "Are you… "
Daisy was interrupted by Emily.
“That's like ten questions in one minute,” Emily chuckled. “Please take it easy with me, or do you have any other appointments for today?”
“Honestly, I've missed you and I've missed our frequent pep talks,” Daisy responded as she grabbed the apples on the table and began eating.
“Please, I'm just so eager to know how your plans have played out,” she said and took the first bite of the apple.
Emily stood up and walked to the wine cellar and grabbed a bottle of wine and two tumblers.
“We have to toast to this new milestone achieved,” Emily said as she placed the bottle of wine and tumblers on the table.
“Heh heh,” Daisy laughed so loud.
“The way you play out all these scripts can't stop amazing me.”
“I mean how do you do it?”
Emily giggled as she sat still watching her friend.
“Honestly, I had to get rid of Elena. Besides, Victoria made it a lot easier for me.”
Daisy nudged her friend as she reached for another apple. “You know the moon goddess was intentional with giving you a daughter like Victoria. It feels like Victoria was a blessing after the cursed Elena.”
They both grinned and fell on each other. Daisy and Emily make the best team. They look out for each other and are always there to support themselves in carrying out their devious plans.
“Please hope no one else knows about the cause of Merlin’s death?” Daisy questioned with a stern look on her face.
Merlin was Elena's father and Emily's first mate. He was such a unique wolf with too many powers. No one understood his kind and many mistook him for a curse. He's the reason Elena's the way she is.
“Dee? You should know me better. You're my only friend. I can't share the secrets we keep with my husband, Victoria or any other person. They'll probably die with us because you're the only one I trust in this world.”
“Oh my days! So reassuring! Thank you for having me as your friend and also for being the best friend ever,” Daisy said so emotionally as she reached to embrace her friend.
“Now is the perfect moment to make our toast,” Daisy said as she grabbed the bottle of wine and popped it open.”
“So we are celebrating endless friendship”
“Loyalty.”
“Purpose.”
“Goals achieved.”
“Love.”
“Freedom.”
“Victories.”
“Cheers to more.”
They both made the toast as their tumblers met and they took a sip to Elena's elimination and Victoria’s marriage to the Alpha's son. The two friends spent the rest of the day reminiscing about old times and also made new plans to achieve their selfish goals.
Crest Pack
It's been over one week since Elena arrived at the Crest Palace. She had spent all her days locked up in the room Amber showed her to. She's yet to meet with the ruthless Alpha King Williams. Being all by herself all these days really felt like being imprisoned. A part of her felt good not to have met the Alpha King Williams because she had been terribly scared to meet the Alpha King. She kept wondering what her fate would be afterwards.
‘But, I'm to be his mate' she voiced her thoughts.
'Edward already mentioned that, the reason I'm being sold to King Williams is to serve as a threaty between the two packs, thereby hindering Alpha Williams from conquering the Verain Pack.'
Elena lay in bed as too many wild thoughts came to her mind.
The door finally opened and a lady dressed in uniforms walked in.
“Good evening Elena,” Amber said with a smile on her face.
“Go..good evening Amber,” Elena stuttered. She honestly couldn't tell what time of the day it was.
“How are you doing?” Amber asked.
“Very well, Amber. Thank you”
“I bring you news from the King,” Amber said as she walked closer to Elena.
Elena's heart skipped. Her fears has finally become her reality. “Oh, Okay” She responded, trying to hide her fears.
“The King demands your presence at dinner tonight.”
“You are to dine with the King in his chambers by 7pm. Dinner is in the next hour. Arrangements have been made for your clothing and they'll arrive soon. You're to take a shower, get dressed and get yourself ready to meet with the King. I'll probably return to lead you to the King's table once it's time,” Amber said as she looked into my eyes to see if I had any questions.
“Thank you Amber, I'll do as you've instructed”
“You seem not to have any questions, I'll take my leave now. I'll be back shortly.” she said and left my room.
I took a deep breath and fell flat on my bed.
“How do I face this monster?”
“How do I get past this?”
