Chapter 4
As Sable lay on her bed, she gazed down at the letter from the good-looking cowboy. When he had written back before to say he had changed his mind, it was a big disappointment for her mama. She ranted and raved for an hour, calling him every rotten name she could think of. She didn’t even stop to think that she was planning to do the same thing to him. Sable wasn’t the least bit sorry, and reveled in the fact that for once someone had gotten the best of Mama.
For that reason alone, she decided she liked this Storm person.
And now he had written her again, but not with a proposal of marriage. She kept reading, and when he mentioned some kind of business deal he wanted to discuss with her, her interest deepened.
