Should I poison the Prince?

1432 Words
Once I was done drinking and the dizziness has subsided, I got up and went out of the room. I made sure to lock the room just in case someone tries to snoop around more than they did already. I hurried down to the dining room and found everyone eating already. And someone found it appealing to sit at the head of the table. I walked over to him and slapped him on the head. Everybody stopped what they were doing and looked at the two of us. Waiting for whatever is about to happen. "Please get out of my chair." I politely said after whacking him on the head. He stayed still in a bowing position for a few seconds before slowly lifting his head. He stood up, causing his chair to be pushed back. I stepped back as well just for precaution because the aura surrounding him is quite malicious and dangerous. He turned around, looked down on me, and glared. I matched his with my own and waited for him to back down. It was a full minute and none of us backed down. I raised an eyebrow and that made him grunt in frustration. "You are impossible to deal with! How the hell did Henry deal with you?" he said as he moved out of the way with his plate in his hand. I maintained my stoic face and went to the kitchen to get myself a plate and utensils before sitting. I got myself a good serving of food and started to eat while everybody was still looking at me in a mix of confusion and awe. I looked at them and they continued eating their food without disturbing me. I finished eating without any further disturbance and left my plate on the sink in the kitchen before leaving to go to my lab. I need to check on my poisons. I opened my lab and locked it from the inside before going to an adjacent door to the far left corner of the room. I opened it but did not fully open the door just yet. I got a mask and some gloves before going inside. I went to see if everything in this room is in order before adjusting the misting features of the sprinkler in this room. I had it on automatic so that I don't need to water it daily. I checked if I could harvest some of it and saw that some bugs have invaded my belladonna's. I wasn't too concerned with bugs because they drop dead the moment they eat the plants but some have adapted to digesting the plant's poison. I looked at it saw nothing. Where the hell is that damn bug? I need to find a way to protect my belladonnas from the stinking flea beetles. I see no slugs in the vicinity and I don't own rabbits, so it is most definitely flea beetles. I sighed in frustration and snipped the leaves that have been eaten and make them useful. I also harvested some of the matured leaves to use. I harvested everything I needed before going out of the room to get everything ready for extraction. I placed the different leaves in their designated places and let the extractions commence while I process the other poisons I had going the week before. I processed them, packaged them, and labeled them so that if I ordered a dimwit to get me something from my shelves, he has no reason to get me the wrong poison. I am talking about Gus. I asked for wolfsbane and he gave me nightshade when there was a label on it that said nightshade. Gus is helpful but can be a total dimwit sometimes. That's why I made him my apprentice when it comes to poisons so he won't accidentally kill him. When I am out training in the arena, I would make him pick herbs and other things in the forest behind the mansion to help him with his recognition inadequacies. When he has gathered everything, I make him identify what he got and he has grown considerably since he became an apprentice of mine. I heard a knock on the door and placed the vial of wolfsbane on the table before going to the door to check who the twit is knocking on it. I opened the door just a little bit and guess who I found on the other side of the door? Marco. "What are you doing here? What do you want?" I asked him. He did not answer but he squinted his eyes to see beyond me and he was about to force his way in when I slammed the door shut and locked it in place. That earned me an agitated grunt from him. "Woman, open this damn door!" he demanded at me. "And why would I do that? You already know that I am an assassin so quit your bitching and let me be!" I replied while I went back to my work. Meanwhile, he kept slamming on the door to open it. No one could open that door. I reinforced it with thick-ass steel in the middle of two 4-inch thick wooden panels. Ever since I came here, I had changed some aspects of the house to my preferences and that included the doors. Not even a sumo wrestler can forcefully open that door. I continued my work while he continues to slam on the door. A few more minutes and the slamming finally stopped, but that did not stop me from wondering what is happening outside. I carefully looked at the door while straining my ears to listen carefully because he might be picking the lock when the door suddenly flew from its hinges and I barely kicked it back before it hits the shelf full of poisons in their most concentrated states. My reflexes kicked in and I kicked the door back to where it came from and someone caught it. I did not let him regain his balance and rained blow after blow after blow of kicks and punches until I finally pushed him out of the door. I stood my ground in front of the room as he lowered the door he was clutching in his hands, acting as a shield for him. What I saw made my blood boil. He was smiling seductively at me while here I am, shaking in anger! "You," I pointed at him while taking off my mask, "do not have the right to barge in any of the rooms in this house without my permission! Yet you have the audacity to tear off a door from its hinges smile at me? Are you crazy?!" I screamed at him. By that time, all of the people in the house have heard the huge bang from earlier and are now looking at the scene. Even Mr. Gregory was looking at the wreckage. "June, what just happened? Why is the door to your lab at the foot of the prince?" he asked "His royal pain in the ass slammed his body on it causing it to fly off its hinges and onto my shelf of poisons. If I didn't kick it back, The house would've had several dead bodies just from the fumes. I took the time to change each and every single one of these doors just so that no one could force their way inside and this gorilla came and demolished one. Now, unless you want to have a dead prince on your hands, I suggest you take him away from me and keep an eye on him. I trust you understand what I am saying, Claude, considering you're the only one who could tame a beast." I said to Claude. He nodded and went to retrieve a smiling prince. "What is wrong with you?" he whispered to him. "You're an assassin yet you deal with poisons? Such a cheap trick." he mocked at me. "I am an assassin that will use any means to get the result. And it usually means a cold body. Plus it is insurance so that if the victim won't die from my gunshot or an arrow through his stomach, then the poison will do its job. You do not get to tell me what to do and how I do my job." I informed him before pulling out my phone and contacting my friend in the construction business to have the door replaced immediately. I just need to make sure no one comes inside this room in the meantime.
