MAGNOLIA Three cars pulled by the facade of Phillips mansion; mine was the car in the middle, with two uniformed men at the front, including the driver. When the door opened, I stepped out and exhaled shakily before taking reluctant steps towards the entrance door. If not for my parents and Eugene, I wouldn't come back here to this horrible place where was once colorful and fun. I still remember staying in a cozy car with Eugene in this driveway until midnight, conversing about unnecessary things and laughing at stupid jokes. I still remember running out from this majestic door with Eugene behind me; he would catch me in one arm and tickle me with the other until I accepted his dinner proposal. All those moments seem distant now, and the place that used to be vibrant is now gloomy.
