00:07 - Aristocrat Academy

1267 Words
At school, Lance parked before the queue of vehicles dropping off Aristocrat students.  The three of us get off and head into the building, where everyone has dressed accordingly to the school rules. "It's the birthday girl enjoying adulthood." Someone yelled in the hallways, attracting every attention, and brought all eyes to me. Before, I'd be cheering like those boys from the hockey team, but now, I only felt that need to sink into the floor and disappear. "Happy birthday once again." Said Fatima Ismael, an Arab student who transferred from Dubai. She was pretty and famous, and now she was talking to me.  "Thank you." I gave her a tight smile just before I froze. Yes, I literally froze.  Have you ever seen those kinds of high school movies where students make way for the school's most gorgeous queen bee just before the final bell rings?  Right now, it was occurring, Sara Benson and her squad were approaching my two friends and me, and everyone in the hallways was moving out of their way to spare themselves from being the target of bullying.  Me, of course, I didn't run. I stopped breathing and stood rigid while Rose began to prepare for our defense. Sara Benson wasn't just pretty; she was a goddess. She's French, so you can sum up the reasons.  But hell, she was mean! No one wants to cross her way. Her boyfriend Warren Jefferson, the hockey team captain, chooses to worship her to satisfy her, yet she seems ungrateful sometimes.  When she stopped before me, neatly organized in her academic uniform, her eyes examined me from my head to toe.  My breathing hitched, knowing she was about to crush me.  Then my miracle came up, putting his arms around me, and kissed my cheek. "Hey babe, you look so good this morning." It was Eugene, the one I cheated on last night. The one who had been my savior ever since three years ago.   Oh goodness! His eyes noticed our company, he smirked. "What do you want, Sara?"  She smiled and blew out a breath, which must be a frustrating one, even though she did an excellent job at hiding it.  "I just wanted to tell Magnolia how great her party was last night." "Thank you," I responded while she and her friends gave me a brief look before they walked away. "Do not mind her. I won't let anyone stress you." He promised, fully embracing me in his warmth. It felt uncomfortable, given that a different person was doing the same to me last night. Well, a person that was related to Eugene. "I wish I have a boyfriend who will do the same." I heard Rose said, next to us, and I smiled. "I fear for that person, though." Gregory teases her. She scowls at him, and they drift into bantering.  Eugene and I only laugh at them.  "Let's get going before we are late for Mrs. Wade's class." He suggests.  The four of us go to the same classes as Fatima Ismael, Warren Jefferson, and Sara Benson, so at the end of the day, not everything is chocolate and candy. Three years ago, I used to be just like those powerful girls around here. I had everything to live the best teenage life until instinct took me to Ralph Phillips penthouse.  Now I am all messed up. The classes were mostly made of dark wooden furniture and single sitting arrangement. Each desk was comfortable enough and offered an iMac and inbuilt drawers where we could conserve our notes if needed. If you're wondering, yes, there are lockers in the hallways.   In the same roll, I settled in the middle of Rose and Gregory while Eugene's desk was by my left.  "Good morning everyone, I have already prepared the questions, I will send you the link, and you can all start." Mrs. Wade announced. She was formally dressed in a skirt and has her hair pulled into a ponytail. She had been our math teacher recently after Mr. Finley got fired for sexually assaulting Sara Benson. Which we still don't believe, knowing she is a manipulative b***h and ruthless enough to prove a certain point. It is why most teachers mind their businesses around her. She was a serpent, always ready to leave a venomous bite. "How much time do we have?" Eugene asked Mrs. Wade when the links came into our systems.  "Twenty."  "Twenty for math? That's unfair even in hell." Fatima opposes, and everyone in the class comes to agree with her. "Well, that's what you can get. If I were you, I better start. We've already missed an hour." Mrs. Wade sternly said and turned around to rest behind the teacher's desk. That is true; unfortunately, after we all settled in the classroom, we had waited for over an hour; due to the teacher's urgent meeting that came up earlier, the first period was almost over.  I clicked on the link and sighed as the questions came up on my screen.  Wow, Geometry, this should be easy.  It was then principal Stetson walked into the class with a paper in his hand and a student casually dressed behind him. No! No! No! Not again. "Another Phillips is joining us for senior year. This is Reign Phillips. I want him to feel welcome because that's what we do here." The principal announced and handed the sheet of paper to Mrs. Wade while the class picked up noise. Noise, as in, that wild mode that automatically turns up in teenage girls over the sight of stupid handsome boys. Then again, not only the girls appear attracted to the devil man standing in front of the class, even the boys were gawking. When I said he was gorgeous, I mean he was celestially sculptured.  "Isn't that your brother-in-law?" Rose queried from behind me. "Holy crackers, you must connect me."  "What about Gregory?" I whispered, shaking my head, not sure why I was suddenly annoyed. "Rings any bell?" "He said I am not attractive." She silently snarled towards him while he had no idea. I roll my eyes and watch the guy whose naked figure hovered over me last night swagger through the aisle and find the desk by my left. Fuck me!  I swallowed, licked my lips with my tongue, aware I was as pale as a ghost. I need to change this f*****g seating arrangement. When I peek to my left, he senses my gaze and arrogantly smirks.  "Hey, cousin." He annoyingly winks at Eugene. I doubt if Eugene is excited about this. I mean, he didn't mention his cousin moving back here.  At least, I could've prepared for all of this since I can't just get into the car and leave as Gunner, my big brother, had done.  While averting his eyes from his cousin, his drastic appealing gaze brushes over to me, it was enough for my skin to break into goosebumps and my pulse to explode.  When I glanced at him again, his eyes were back to the computer sitting at his desk. No! This can't be happening. I can't be in-between.  He can't be joining my school. Not after all that he had put me through. What could he possibly want anymore?  I didn't tell his secret, so why is he following me? "Hey, are you okay?" I heard Eugene worriedly asked.  Even more panicked, I nodded, strained, and turned back to see my math questions transformed to an HD video of Ralph Phillips's evidence murder.  I suddenly got the feeling I had lost this test.
