Dear Diary: I'm still embarrassed...

I'm so hungry. Yesterday I didn't eat. I was too embarrassed to sit with everyone. MaNgubane kept sending one of the maids to tell me that Mlondi is not eating with them. But for some stupid reason I'm too embarrassed to even sit with fam after I cried my eyes out like someone died. MaDlamini kept saying it's okay, there's nothing to be embarrassed about. MaNgubane agreed with her, which is new. I feel like she goes out of her way to disagree with her. I head to the bathroom for a quick shower so I can eat. Hopefully they kept my food, I can't cook, I'm too impatient and hungry.

On my way to the kitchen one of the maids tells me where to find my food. Ten minutes later I'm full it's like I've never been hungry.

"You're up. Go change to your overalls I have a job for you" Mlondi tells me heading to the fridge for a bottle of water.

Without any questions I head to my room to change. I find him in the kitchen with his mom, grandma and the boys. They are arguing about someone. Must be me because as soon as I walk in they go mute. Mlondi tells me to follow him. The whole house does. Why is everyone following us? Is this guy planning to kill me?

"Nana, you said that out loud" maNgubane tells me laughing. Oh s**t I always tell myself to stop that everytime someone say I said that out loud. The others pretend as if they didn't hear me. I just go mute and Mlondi doesn't say anything. He gets into one of the cars and I get in the back. I see the others getting into MaDlamini's car. After an hour we get to an abandoned building. With everyone here I doubt he's going to kill me so I relax.

When Mlondi gets off I follow him. When we get to the entrance I found the guys I was working with. Oh God not another construction or I'll sign for divorce. This is abuse. They smile when they see me. Reminds of the last time I worked with them I was so exhausted I even cried that morning and they let me sleep and I woke up 5 hours later when they heard that the boss is coming to the site. After that job I slept for more than 12 hours for a whole week and hubby dearest hasn't paid me. And I know he paid the guys.

I smile back them. They hand me a broom and a face mask and they lead me to the 5th floor where I find more peoole. They tell me that we need to sweep, before the renovation company comes. We should be done in a week. A week? This place is huge but I just join the others who have started working. I see 7 new girls checking out Mlondi. Like the day before he doesn't seem to notice.

"Wow that guy is super handsome" says one of the ladies. She looks old enough to be his mom. They continue discussing him. One of the ladies goes on to tell us how she'd bear him 6 kids, boys only. The guys are staring at me like I should say something to stop them because wow their discussion is too explicit. Like 18+, but I just continue sweeping. Ten minutes later one of the guys can't take it anymore.

"That's the guy's wife" he tells them pointing me. If he thought that will help, it didn't. Instead they started to discuss how it'll be easy to steal him from me. I don't even say anything. What am I supposed to say anyway? They can take him I think.

We continue working with the guys, the ladies are slacking, busy discussing Mlondi. After an hour and a half we move the floor below. I thought a week wasn't going to be enough. But now I think we'll be done in 2 or 3 days. And I don’t see MaDlamini, maNgubane and the boys. Maybe they came to make sure hubby dearest wasn't planning to become a widower to his wife of 30 days.

After 5 hours Mlondi walks in, tells everyone it's time to knock off. One of the ladies starts to unbutton the first 3 buttons of her shirts to show off her cleavage while walking towards him. He doesn’t say anything he's just standing there looking at her.

"I find you cute" she tells him a husky voice. I head to the door, I don't want to hear his answer. But he pulls me towards him.

"And I find myself married" he shows her both our wedding bands. "If you still want to work here, you'll respect my wife" he continues looking at her. He doesn't even wait to hear her answer he pulls me towards the stairs. I can't help but smile. When we get to the door, I can hear the guys laughing upstairs. One of them saying I told you. I wasn't expecting this. I was expecting him to flirt with her and have an affair. Makes me think of something I haven't thought of. Is he faithful? We don't talk all the way home. He drops me off and leaves. I just hope he's not going back to that lady.

After supper with family, I take a shower. I was too hungry to take a shower before eating. After wearing my pj's I decide to read a book. Something I haven't done on a long time. But I can't stop thinking about my sister. I wonder what happened to her? What if Mlondi is with her now? Does that mean she's his mistress now? When she decides to come back what will happen? I doubt Mlondi will stay married to me.
