Betty and I dance through the night with the other girls. I heard the jealousy and the gossip around, but who cares? Soon, in the next few days, this high school life will be over, and I just want to make the most of it.

When Virgil came to us and asked to drop by Betty's home, Betty refused. She said that her parents would pick her up and that they would have a late dinner somewhere in town. I felt jealous, it's like a family bonding and celebration after the prom. I wish dad and I could do that too.
