RAINA’S POV
She sat beside me and offered a friendly handshake. I regarded her perfectly manicured hand, my heart fluttering with hesitation but the polite part of me urged me to take her hand.
“Ethan says you do not want to be here.” She said in a direct manner that shocked me. “I can understand that perfectly. We all thought the king’s mate didn’t exist, how would a man without a soul have a mate, eh?” She asked rhetorically and I just stared at her blankly, wondering where she was heading with this. “We didn’t think you were real, but here you are,” Her eyes glowed with fascination but they weren’t able to hide a gleam of disdain that sizzled within. “I’m honored.”
