RAINA’S POV
Later that night, I went back for the books I had hidden in the large, artificial flower vase. I had to wait till a few hours after dinner. Luckily, the guards that were in charge of the security of the pack house at night were mounted outside, rather than inside. So, the chances of running into anyone at this point were near zero.
The only thing I was unsure of were the maids, I had no idea when they went to sleep or stopped perambulating around the pack house. That was the only cheeky part that made me move cautiously as I stepped out of the room. The maids became the least of my worries when I somehow bumped into Ariah in the hallway that led to the stairs. What was she doing awake by this time? Didn’t the devil ever sleep?
