RAINA’S POV
I sat beside a fire, still terrified but intrigued by how coordinated a small crowd of people could be in the middle of nowhere. The entire night, the men who had attempted to attack me journeyed through the forest, glancing back from time to time. Whenever they did this, it stirred up my curiosity until I couldn’t hold the question back anymore. The man with the steel-gray eyes made sure he stayed by my side and had even offered to carry me when I started to fall back weakly.
I refused though and lied, “I’ll be fine, my legs are just a little sore. It’s nothing serious,”
