I groaned as I woke, my whole body painful with my head heavy as if I was the one who had been drinking. It was hard getting up so I just lay there, eyes closed, groaning over and over again until I kicked some sense into me to get up. I was sure I had overslept, chasing the last bites of sleep with my arms stretched out. My hand came to my face, my cheek painful. I sat up in the bed, moving my jaw from side to side, suddenly realizing that it was not my cheek but my gum that had just a faint ache. My tongue ran through my teeth. Maybe I was getting a cavity. I sighed, my body flying back to bed. I had never been one to sleep a lot but I felt so drained.
