23 Nick There’s an internet café about half a mile from where we live, so I decide to walk round there. I figure I should be able to get there and do what I need to do before they close for the evening. Even though the police let me take my mobile phone and laptop back, there’s no way I’m taking my phone out with me. For all I know, they could be using it to track my movements, and that’s the last thing I need. I need to tread as carefully as I possibly can, not arousing suspicion. I feel naked walking around without my phone, but there’s not much I can do about that. I’ll be out of the house for less than an hour, if that, and I’ll just have to use the excuse that I forgot it and left it at home if I’m asked. The police don’t need to know that no matter how disorganised I am generally,
