RACHEL'S POV
I didn't care leaving him outside the house. I rushed upstairs and changed to comfortable sweats and a crop top.
After that, I went to the kitchen and granted an apple before I went out.
Adam was still outside and that made me a bit enraged.
"What the hell do you want from me? Go already,"I told him.
"Please come on, I still need you Rachel,"He begged but I just stared at him for a while before I started walking away.
"Where are you heading to?"He implored.
"I am going to see Scott,"I told him fastening my steps till I was outside the gate.
I took out my ear phones and started listening to music from my phone.
As I stepped outside the gate, I took a quick gaze behind and Adam was still standing on the same spot disbelief masking his face.But nothing was going to make me second guess myself.
The weather was pretty cool, the trees had fallen dry leaves of different shades from red to orange to yellow resting beneath them. It was colourful. The true definition of autumn.
Within no time,I had reached Scott's house.My heart skipped a bit after I rang the bell as I waited for response.
Without further ado, the door sprang open.And contrary to my expectation,Scott's mum was the one who answered the door.
"Hello, "stretching her hand to greet me.
"Hello mom, "I dipped forward stretching my hand.
"You're here for Scott I suppose?"she asked.
"Yes please. Is he in?"
"Yeah come right in, "she ushered me into the living room.
As I headed for the couch his mum called out for him.
He took a while to come downstairs and during my long wait I glanced around their luxurious home.
During summer Scott and I used to hang in the beach mostly so I had never been their before.
Everything in the house screamed expensive.From the creative art work hanged on the walls to the sleek vases standing on the corners. But what caught my eyes were some family photo frames resting on the wall unit.
I immediately rose from the couch to get a closer view.
"Damn! You were fine from the very beginning, "I mouthed as my eyes landed on little Scott.
I was instantly interrupted by the clearing of Scott's throat.Oh f**k he heard me.
"Hi. You've kept me waiting long, "I complained not giving him a chance to comment on my utterance.
"Oh sorry. I was taking a quick shower. Being up and down the whole day gets me so worked up, "he explained,"you're comfortable here or we go to the yard? "
I wanted to kiss him more so bad.We definitely needed some privacy. No interruption at all. Keeping him locked to me was my mission.
"The yard. The yard will be a better setting, "I responded rather too merrily.
We made our way using the back door and when I saw a swing I quickly rushed to it. My inner child will forever be alive.
"Come push me, "I nagged.
We spent the rest of the afternoon talking of all sorts of things.
"I saw you having lunch with the nerds. No one sits with them, "
"That was the only table left.But they're good company.I wonder why you call them nerds..."scratching the back of his head.
"Listen Scott,"I cut in,"you can't hang with them. You're not like them, can't you see.You'll end up like them if you don't take care,"I begged.
"Okay.Okay,"he shrugged.
"From now onwards we'll be spending time together at school.I'll be holding a space for you at class and in the dinning room, "I said shooting a convincing smile.
We spent the rest of the afternoon talking of all sorts of things. I realised he was somehow a quiet person. So in most cases I was the one to initiate a conversation whenever we got into an awkward silence. But I didn't mind, he was popular and that was what mattered.
The whole time we talked my eyes couldn't help follow his lip movement.I wanted to taste them one more time. And as if he had clearly read the signs he dipped forward looping his hands around my waist and kissed me deeply.Was he already falling for me?
"I better get going. It's getting really late mother is probably fuming wherever she is, "I said noticing the setting of the sun as light was overtaken by darkness.
"I can't wait to spend time with you tomorrow, "I added.
Being the gentleman he is he walked me home and made sure I had gotten inside the house before he walked away.
I couldn't wait for the next day to let the whole school know how much I was quite a catch. I always got the most popular boy no matter what.
We hardly slept throughout the night. We texted for hours,till I dozed off.
The next morning I constantly rang Scott to make sure we left our houses at the same time. We had to walk down the hallway together. The whole of Liberty high had to see the journey of this love story from the very beginning.
We swiftly parked our flashy cars in the parking lot and stepped out.I smoothened my dress and gave Scott a quick glance. Ruffling his hands through his red hair couldn't make him look more sexier.
"Hold my hand, "I insisted,clenching on his bisceps as he arched his hand against his chest to keep mine in position.
As we walked in sync through the hallway,everyone stepped aside to their lockers making way for the schools' new couple goals.
The whole hallway went silent apart from the slight mumbles coming from the likes of Angela and the rest of the nerds.My eyes landed on Angela and she gave me a long sneer and I couldn't help but give her a victory smirk instead.
On the other side were my two best friends,Kylie and Bella, holding their hands over their mouths in shock but also happy for me.
"Go Kate.Go Kate, "goofy Kate mouthed throwing low fistbumps in the air.
I pressed harder on my stilettos as we approached our lockers. We needed to make a statement.
The rest of the day was spent with Scott and I sitting by each others side during every class. I hardly spent time with my girls apart from lunch time but I knew they understood.
As I and the girls were having lunch, before Scott joined us, I watched Adam and his now nerdy friends approach our table.
"Hold up, "I sprang from my seat standing right in front of him, "where do you think you're going? "
"But... "
"No buts Adam. I.am.done.with.you,"I was annoyed to the core.
Knowing he had no chance with me he strode away with a downward gaze.
"Guys, guys I need to fill you in,"Bella drew our attention right after I got to my seat.
"The Razzers are going to be playing against The Republicans this Friday, "
"Okay... "looking at her blankly.
"There's a party right after, "she giggled.
Our faces lit up instantly.Parties got us playing dress up.We couldn't wait.
Soon after,Scott and his friends joined us forcing us to quit our girl talk.
I spent the rest of the day letting everyone know that Scott was now taken.
