I was instantly woken by the sound of a knock on my apartment door, even though it was only subtle. My eyes squinted at the digital clock on my nightstand that read 6:30, causing me to furrow my eyebrows. Who could be here so early? “I’ve got it.” I halted Chelsea, who seemed to have woken up earlier as she’d rushed out of her room with her toothbrush in her foaming mouth. When I touched the doorknob, I suddenly paused as a thought suddenly occurred to me. It was too early for anyone I knew of personally to be at the door. Could it then be him?
