I never found the Christmas or New year's holiday special. I never found any holiday special, as a matter of fact, not even my birthdays. They weren't different from any other day. Humans tend to bestow great significance on these days and make it imperative that one spend it with 'family and friends,' a notion I never found pleasant. It was always cold at home, even when my father was around; it was the same. In fact, I think it got worse with him leaving. Mother would lock herself and Caroline in the basement, teaching her witch-daughter spells, and when she finally came out, it was to deprecate my every move, reminding me of just how 'different' I was.
