Her Second Chance.

Chapter 6/ This is gonna work out…

    This wasn’t going to be so bad. I walk past Bethany and I say goodbye to her. She smiles at me and says “Goodbye” I walk down the stairs and when I get to the bottom floor, I met by my friends who ask me to join them and watch a movie. We all go sit on the couch and snuggle up. Kieran ended up right next to me and put his arm around me. My heart was pounding out of my chest. I put my hand on his knee and leaned into his body. We laid like that the whole movie.

    Alpha Ronan came down and saw all of us and told us to stop sitting around watching movie. Go find something productive to do. With that we all got up and went outside. We all started walking through the forest to our favorite spot in the woods.

    Jasper, Kevin, and I built a fort when we were kids and we come back to it every so often and have little camp outs. The last two times Livi and Kieran have been with us. Today will be Lillian’s first time at the fort but I’m sure she will love it.

    “Ok guys how about a Fort camp out night?” Jasper asks everyone.

    Everyone agrees. So, we all go our separate ways and agree to meet back at 6. I go home and tell my parents to good news and They are so happy for me.

    “Oh, hun that’s a great job. Way better than I expected.” My dad says with a big grin.

    “Oh sweety I’m so grateful to the alpha for this.” She says with tears in her eyes.

    Mom goes and makes lunch, and we all sit down to eat. I talk to dad about my mate, which mom had already informed him of. Then I tell them I will be going to a campout tonight and that I’d be back before 6am to get ready for my first real day of work.

    “Oh sweety listen to you sounding so grown up.” My mom says with a sweet smile.

    My mom was always so gentle and loving. I love her but I’m most certainly more like my dad. “Thanks mom.” I say with a puffed-up chest.

    My dad just laughs. It’s exactly something he would do. He’s the strong and silent type, but also gut bustingly funny. “Well, I hope you take your job seriously, can’t be all goofy all the time.” My dad says.

    “I know dad.” I say rolling my eyes laughing.

    Which makes him bust out laughing. My mom does not find us funny as she sits there staring at us which only makes us laugh harder. “You two are terrible.” She says. “You couldn’t be serious ever.” Mom adds. We laugh as she takes the dishes to the sink.

     Later that night I was heading to the fort when I see Kieran walking not too far from me going towards the fort. He walks over to me and starts walking with me. I have my sleeping bag and backpack full of snacks and drinks.

    “So, I’ve been wanting to ask you something since the night of your birthday.” Kieran says fiddling with his ring on his middle finger.

     “Ok, what is it?” I ask and look at him as we stop walking.

    He looks at me and then at my lips. He licks his and my whole body starts to heat. “Well see I’ve kind of always had a crush on you.” He says and looks at the ground. And my heart is doing freaking flips right now.

    “And I don’t know if you’re my mate.”  He stops again making my heart bound out of my chest.

    “But now that your 18, you might know. But I’ve always liked you and have always been drawn to you.” Oh my goddess if he doesn’t spit it out my heart might actually stop.

    “On your birthday when we finished dancing you looked like you were going to kiss me, before Alpha pulled you away. And then today you have no problem cuddling up with me on the couch.” He stops again and I can feel my body heating to max.

     “Will you be my girlfriend?” He asks looking at the his hands.

    I’m frozen. My mate just asked me to be his girlfriend. I feel a stir and I know it’s Lola. I can’t quiet hear her, but I know she is saying YES.

    “I know that I’m younger than you, but if you gi-“

     That’s as far as he got before I threw my arms around his neck and crushed my mouth to his. He pushed me back until my back was against a tree and then his hands where all over my body. My moan allowed him to slide his tongue into my mouth.

    He deepened the kiss and began to cup my ass. I picked my legs up and put them around his waist. Things were going really fast before I knew it his hands were unbuttoning my shirt. I pushed back and unwrapped my legs from his waist. I placed my feet down and backed up.

    “I’m sorry I got really into that. I’ve been dreaming of this day for two years.” Kieran said breathlessly.

    “Don’t worry about it. I’ve been wanting that since my birthday.” I said just as out of breath as him.

    “So, I am your mate. I knew it.” He said happily as he grabbed me in a hug and spun me around.

    “I didn’t say that. I can’t tell you that anyway.” I said laughing. His face fell.

    “Look I’m not allowed to tell you if I am or not, but I wouldn’t waste my time with you if it wasn’t going somewhere in the future.” I say leaning up to kiss him sweetly.

    “We can’t tell anyone that you might know.” I say to him looking into those beautiful honey brown eyes.

     “Ok I won’t say anything. I’m just so happy you’re my girl now.” He says smiling lovingly at me.

    “Me too babe, me too.” I say winking at him. I kiss him one more time and take his hand and we walk to the fort.

     We walked up and everyone was staring at us. In unison they said, “It’s about time.” Kieran laughed and I just looked shocked.

    “Come on Graci you didn’t know my brother has been pining over you for two years?” Kevin says with a laugh and raised eyebrows. Shocked in place. I had no idea.

    “Ok Kevin let’s not make my girlfriend uncomfortable.” Kieran says with a huge smile.

    I blush and think back to all the signs and honestly, they are all there. I just didn’t see them until now. Everybody went back to setting up their tents. Usually, we had 3 tents. Jasper and Livi in one, Kieran and Kevin in one, and me alone in the other.

    But this time Lillian was here with Kevin and I’m sure he’d want her in his tent. I guess that puts Kieran in with me. I don’t mind, but I worry we will go too far and I’m not ready for that yet. Especially since he’s underage. Kieran is setting up the tent that is usually all mine. When he’s finished, he sets his stuff by it and puts my stuff in it.

    I have been getting wood for our fire and watching him work. I had just finished and sat down on a rock when he finished putting our stuff down. He walked over to me and bent down and kissed my forehead.

    “Do you need anything babe?” Kieran asked me.

    I smile up at him and shake my head. He sits down next to me and wraps his arm around me.

    “Do you care if I sleep in your tent. It’s ok if you say no, I just don’t want to be with the love birds.” He says rolling his eyes toward Kevin and Lillian.

     “I don’t mind if you sleep in my tent.” I say. “But no funny business” I add with my best serious face.

    “Why I never” He reply’s in his best southern belle accent.

    I through my head back and laugh. He smiles at me and kisses my cheek. I look around and see Kevin was sitting next to Lillian talking about their plans after high school. Livi was watching Jasper get the fire started. When he was done, he went and sat beside her.

    “What do y’all say to doing this again on graduation night? I mean dad is gonna throw us a huge party, but after that we come out here together.” Jasper asks.

    “What made you say that?” Livi asks him with a smile.

    “I just thought it would be cool to have one last night before some of us go off to college.” He said.

    Jasper and Kevin would be going to college two towns over. Lillian was going to start training at the hospital to be a nurse. They would be home on the weekends. But he was right it wasn’t gonna be the same. We all agree to do it.
