Arson, who was just about to go out after talking to his father, was immediately surprised by the presence of Kylie who was already standing at the door. Drake Adams' eldest son was so afraid that the youngest would hear all their talks.
"Kyl," Arson said and managed to make Drake who was inside surprised to make the man stand up from his oversized chair when he heard his favorite daughter's name mentioned. Fortunately, Arson had a flat face so it didn't look like he was tense.
"What are you doing here, Son? Didn't you go to the office earlier?" Kylie asked probingly at the tall, burly man.
Arson shook his head. "I haven't left yet and I'm discussing the meeting I'm going to have today. As for you, what are you doing in Daddy's office?" Arson replied with a question at the end of his sentence.
Drake stepped closer to his son and daughter, not wanting Kylie to become suspicious.
"I want to ask Daddy for permission," replied Kylie, who did not explain where she was going.
Arson furrowed his brow.
"What's up baby?" asked Drake, who managed to make Arson turn quickly to his father. He always had a sweet word for his youngest daughter because it reminded Drake of his late wife.
The old man looked calm, his experience allowing Drake to deal with small problems like this.
"Daddy, Jevin asked me to his office. Can I go?" asked Kylie, who immediately asked Drake for permission.
Arson immediately folded his face. He didn't like the idea of Kylie getting close to any man, even if it was his brother.
Drake smiled. "No problem, dear. It's about time you learned about our family business because soon you'll be leading one of our branch companies," Drake said, permitting his favorite daughter.
Kylie immediately put on a pouty face.
"I'm not going there to learn about business, I just want to take a walk and see Jevin's office. I want to go with Jeykey, but it's not possible because he wants to study," said Kylie, who told Drake that her purpose in following Jevin was not for work, but to fill her empty time.
Initially, she wanted to stay at home with Valery, even planning to ask Carly's wife to teach her how to cook. However, Jevin suddenly offered something more interesting and made Drake's youngest daughter immediately agree.
Drake chuckled. "No problem. Go, baby, go wherever they take you, but you can't go anywhere without Jevin or the other bodyguards. Remember, don't be reckless like you did in Germany!" Drake said again, reminding Kylie that his youngest daughter often deceived the bodyguards Drake had assigned to guard Kylie.
Kylie actually wanted to live like an ordinary person who was not escorted anywhere, even though Kylie herself knew that danger was always targeting their family, but the girl did not seem to care.
"But the proof is that I'm fine, right, Dad until now? So don't be too scared and worried. No one will dare to touch me," Kylie said casually as if she really wasn't afraid that she might end up in the hands of the Adams family's enemies.
"Kylie," said Arson in a heavy voice.
The girl immediately turned to the handsome man standing beside her.
"Yes, yes, I'm just kidding. I'm not going anywhere," said Kylie who understood the meaning of Arson's call. The girl smiled as she formed her finger into a V and pointed it at the two men who were now staring at her.
"No need to come with Jevin because today he will have a meeting, you will be lonely there. Just come to my office and I'll show you around the other branch offices," said Arson who forbade the woman he loved to go with anyone else, even if it was Arson's sibling.
"Didn't you just say that there was a meeting, meaning the same thing, I will also definitely be left behind by you two. I'd rather be at home with Valery," Kylie said while playing with her lips. She seemed to be fooled by Arson and Jevin.
"I only have a short meeting, unlike Jevin," said Arson again, who insisted on asking Kylie to go to his office instead of following Jevin.
"Really?" asked Kylie again to make sure.
Arson nodded with a flat face, he did not want his attention to be noticed by Drake because it would cause a big problem.
Kylie turned to look at her father who was also looking at them.
"Is what he said true Dad?" asked Kylie.
It turned out that the girl didn't believe Arson's words.
"Yes dear, Arson is right. He only signed the agreement, probably not for 10 minutes because you know how the man next to you is? He wouldn't feel at home in a crowd and all of our family's business partners are well aware of that. So they won't waste time in our office either," Drake replied, not suspecting Arson's intentions in bringing the youngest.
Kylie smiled as she moved her head slightly.
"Alright then, I'll tell Jevin first if I'm not coming with him. He's been waiting for me downstairs," said an excited Kylie.
In the deepest recesses of her heart, Kylie was so happy that today she could spend the whole day with Arson, the man she loved. However, she did not want to show it directly, fearing that Arson might get suspicious. Kylie didn't want to break the bond between them, she would hold on to these feelings and didn't know how long she could hold on. Maybe after Arson got married or not at all, she could forget about the cold man.
Kylie was about to step up to Jevin and tell him that she was not going out with Drake Adams' third son and was going to Arson's office. However, her steps were halted when her eldest held her back. Kylie immediately turned around when she heard Arson's words.
"We're both going downstairs," Arson said.
The man turned back to Drake to say goodbye.
"I'll go first Dad," he said with a nod from the mafia chief.
In a different place.
An old man sat in front of a young man who was the same age as Drake's second son, Carly Adams.
The young man looked up at the old man while raising one eyebrow.
"Sir, when can I see my nephew again? I miss her so much already. Didn't you promise to reunite me with him shortly?" asked the old man to the young man who was now staring flatly at him.
"You don't need to be afraid, I will reunite you with her as soon as possible, but according to the plan we have arranged. You don't want your nephew not to recognize you as his uncle because of your lack of evidence," said the young man.
The old man seemed to be silent, true to what the young man in front of him had said. He could not carelessly meet with his nephew, he had to have strong evidence so that his nephew whom he had missed would believe that he was his Uncle.
"Alright, sir. I'll wait, but you're not lying are you, sir?" the man said again as he asked at the end of his sentence.
The young man chuckled amusedly.
"Do you doubt me?" he asked with a smirk on his face.
The old man shook his head quickly, he didn't mean to be suspicious of the young man. He was just afraid if he didn't manage to bring his nephew home because, for the old man, he was more entitled to take care of his nephew than other people who had no blood relationship at all to his nephew.
"That's good. Go back to your house and remember, you have to be careful if you want this plan to work!" the young man reminded the man in front of him.
"You can rest easy sir, so far your men have managed to protect me. My existence alone cannot be sniffed out by them, and cannot be found by all of them," said the old man again.
The young man nodded his head. He knew that all his men had been reliable all along, no one had let him down and the young man was confident that he could defeat his enemy this time. Now he was back on his feet and ready to avenge what had been years in his heart.
The old man moved to leave the young man's secret room.
"I'll take my leave, sir," the old man said.
"Yes, sir. Be careful because your opponent is not a random person," the young man reminded the old man standing in front of him.
The old man smiled at the young man.
"I will not be afraid, sir, because you will protect me," he replied with confidence that the seated young man would continue to protect him.
Loud laughter could be heard clearly from the young man's mouth and the old man who was currently standing also laughed.
The old man slowly walked away from the young man's room. After making sure that the old man disappeared from his sight, the young man laughed again so loudly.
"You stupid human! Did he think that I would help him for free?" asked the youth after swearing at the old man.
"Never! You'll be on my easy meal list too," the young man said again.
Another round of laughter erupted from the room and this time it was accompanied by all his men who were also in the room.
"Prepare to meet your death and that of any family members you have, damn man!" said the young man, this time also swearing at his target.
