A sigh of relief escaped my lips as I sunk into the deep bath. I needed to have a bit of time to myself to relax. I have been so stressed out this week that I haven’t stopped to take a moment to look after myself. It was nice having a bit of privacy, or so I thought...
Michele barged into the bathroom which caused me to jump and cover my naked body using my hands and crossing my legs.
“Michele!” I screamed. He didn’t respond to my shriek of embarrassment, he just stood there with his hand still firmly gripping the handle.
“Get out of the bath and pack your things” he ordered. I stared at him with confusion.
“What? Why?” I asked.
“We are leaving tonight. Be ready by six; Nico will take you to the jet when it’s time” he finished and then left. He was all flustered and in a panic. It was the first time I had seen him since he had the woman sitting on his lap and this is how he speaks to me? I wasn’t having it, not this time. I hurtled myself out of the tub and wrapped a towel around me, rushing to catch up with him.
“Is that it?!” I yelled down the hallways after him. He turned to me with frustration.
“I don’t have time for this Amelia!” He snapped.
“You don’t have time for this?! I’m not a piece of s**t you know! Some people actually do have feelings and you would be wise to recognise that!”
“Amelia!” He shouted.
“No Michele, you’re not going to shut me up! Not this time! Who was that woman?!”I interrogated. He rubbed his eyes with his finger tips and shook his head.
“We are not doing this now” he grunted.
“We can talk about this later on!”. He walked away before I could say something back to him. I was so angry and fed up with being treated like some kind of pet!
—MICHELE—
“Mr Rossi” Ezio greeted me as I sat down at the bar beside him. I raised my hand to the barmen to get his attention.
“Whiskey” I grunted and waited for him to pour my drink before I acknowledged Ezio.
“I’m guessing you’re not alone” I implied as I lifted the glass to my mouth.
“Just like you’re not” he smirked.
“Did you think I would actually come without any protection?” I asked rhetorically. Ezio sniggered and then slurped at his drink.
“You’re beginning to make this very difficult Michele. All of this will stop if you just give her to me”
“You’re not having her”.
It was quiet for a moment whilst the barmen poured us a second drink. I could sense Ezio’s anger stirring inside of him, thinking of every way he could kill me right here right now. He started to chuckle to himself and then leant his arm against the bar.
“Oh Michele. Didn’t your father teach you not to love?”. His smug tone sent waves of rage through my body and I was starting to struggle to keep my cool.
“She must be special to get the famous ‘Michele Rossi’ to fall in love” he mocked.
“She’s a good investment, nothing more” I dismissed but he could see right through my deflection.
“No, it’s a lot more than that. You have risked your men’s lives to keep her and I know that you wouldn’t do that unless she was important to you” he assumed.
I looked up at the clock which read ‘6:30pm’. I had to keep him busy for another 45 minutes to give my men time. We had devised a plan to get Mario back whilst Ezio was distracted. I knew he would bring most of his men with him which gave mine a fighting chance. Once we have him, he’ll be taken to the Jet along with Amelia and we will be long gone by the time he notices that Mario is gone. All I have to do is keep my calm.
“She’s entertaining” I deflected.
“Oh I bet she is” he smirked.
“So is this what you wanted to talk about? Amelia’s status in my world or is there actually something you want to discuss?” I tried to change the subject.
“I’ve come to give you another chance, there is no need to waste anymore lives on a silly quarrel. I want to make you a counter offer” he grinned. I could hear the sly tone to his voice and it put me on edge.
“You give me Amelia and I will give you the casino, my allegiance and I’m sure that an arrangement can be made for you to play with her whenever you want. I will even throw in the amount that you paid for her” he smugly suggested. He must be f*****g crazy if he thinks I’m going to change my mind about giving her to him.
“Play with her?” I snapped.
“Isn’t that what you’re doing anyway? You did deny any feelings towards her. This way you get your money back and still get to have that tight little body whenever you want” he mocked. I bit the inside of my cheek to try and control myself.
“Why do you want her so badly?” I asked.
“I think you know the answer to that amico (friend)” he began.
“There something very unique and... innocent about her. It’s something I would like to test out for myself before handing her over”. I snarled at him and gripped the base of my glass even tighter.
“Well you’re going to have to keep dreaming because she’s not for sale” I reminded him. The confident and arrogant demeanour washed away and Ezio suddenly slammed his hand down on the bar.
“I tried to do this the easy way but your f*****g stubbornness has just cost the lives of your men!” He growled in my face. I smirked at him and finished the dribble at the bottom of my glass.
“Good luck with that” I returned. He moved away after trying to intimidate me with his eyes and sighed.
“I always get what I want Michele and when I do I am going to make sure you get weekly updates until her dying breath” he threatened.
“She seems to be very wilful and independent. I wonder how long it will take for me to break her like a f*****g horse” he threatened, baring his teeth as he spoke. I was beginning to struggle with containing my anger and the urge to lunge at him was unbearable.
“I bet that petite body is fun to play with” he smirked, speaking just louder than a whisper.
“If you even f*****g breathe her name again, I will make sure that you suffer. I don’t fall in love, my father taught me how to make sure of that, he told me it was a mans greatest weakness. I might just test that out for myself. Do you think your wife is ready for a real man yet? Maybe we can make you watch as I f**k the life out of her; see how weak you are when I’m finished with her and pop a bullet through that pretty little mouth of hers” I growled.
Ezio’s eye started to twitch as I hit a nerve. I glanced up at the clock once again. ‘7pm’. I waved the barman over and got us one final drink. Ezio’s was flashing me a death stair as I placed the money onto the bar. I slid his glass over to him and grinned.
“I think you can take that as a no deal” I smirked.
