I’m so sorry.” The onlookers regarded the scene uncomfortably. Maddox lifted her head and said to Kes, “I didn’t know he would... I really didn’t mean...” Kes ran a hand through his hair, his features stricken with sadness and horror. Cherry was also at a total loss as to what to say or do. The only saving grace in the situation was Nina and Miki hadn’t witnessed the murder. She peeked into their den.
