The Young Girl

Chapter 10 - Present - Alana Once again, the weak body fell as if it were lifeless, easily resting in the arms of the Oracle as if it weighed nothing, and it really didn't. After all, the figure of Dilara was still thinner than the healthy body of any other adult... She could not be sick, yet the several years unconscious just allowed her to maintain the minimum health she needed to stay alive and nothing more, thus allowing Zemira to put her in bed without any help. ... And as she had declared to Alana, seconds later, she could hear the noises of feet moving toward there, making her go back to where they left her outside... "Zemira! How is she? Did she open the door?!" To her surprise, the first person who appeared anxiously there was none other than the other Oracle, that had a little girl by her side who shouldn't be much older than ten years old and had similar features to Dilara's... Even if her hair was a lighter shade of blond, being almost white as her mother's. "Calm down, Inina. She's fine, and she's just asleep now, but you can go in to see her if you want. The door is no longer locked." Zemira couldn't deny that it had been very unusual for Alana to have locked all the locks the room had, even the ones they would never imagine she would be able to find while feeling so afraid of her surroundings. However, again, the only thing a person in her condition would like to do is feel safe, no matter what it cost to, even if they had to place a big log in front of the door with their bare hands... So it was nothing for the young woman, who just wanted to feel the safest as she could amid that strange situation she was in. ... Which reminded the Oracle of the Twin Moons that perhaps it would be better for her to go and prepare some elixirs and potions that she was sure Alana would need later when she wakes up... "Inina, I need to go do some things now. Do you think you can be here alone with her? Or do you want me to call someone else to help?" Although Zemira knew that the other woman's youngest daughter accompanied her, she also recognized that it wouldn't help with anything if something unexpected happened... "Yes, I will stay here with her, Zemira. And you don't need to call anyone else." Briefly looking at her, Inina replied with her light hair falling over her face that had the traits of someone in her forties different from the other Oracle. "Or don't you believe me? And thinks that I would be able to hurt my own daughter just because she isn't able to recognize me yet?" Sensing that the other female's eyes were still on her, it made Northern Star comment rudely, looking back at her while Zemira is yet standing by the door. "No, I don't think so, and you know that... But remember that Dilara is no longer a child, even if everything that is normal for us is still unknown to her right now." And like that, in a gentle voice, she answered before setting out to her next task, leaving mother and daughters there alone. * * * As if a large block of concrete was on my body, I woke up with heavy eyes back on the same bed in the room I had locked myself in earlier. And despite all the difficulty that I had to see at the moment, I could see from the position that I was in that the door was open now, completely free for anyone to enter or leave at any time before I heard someone say something from my right side. ... Making me quickly move my head to them, only to regret it seconds later... Closing my eyes again, I could barely pay attention to her as I felt the pain that punished my body while I heard her repeat something, voice more concerned this time as I noticed then that I could understand some of her words now. "Don't worry... I'm fine." And hoping she could understand me too, I told her, just wanting her to shut up for a moment before I heard her bend down beside me, kneeling among the blankets and pillows that formed that bed on the floor. "... I'm sorry, Ayin. I didn't mean to scare you..." At first, it looked like she was going to touch me, yet, despite the young age that she appeared to have, she stopped her actions after thinking a little about it. And at the same time, I could understand some of her words amid her apology, even if I had no clue what Ayin was or if that was some nickname that Dilara had as she kept talking without stopping... "... Can you... pick me... some... water?" Feeling my mouth drier now, I spoke with difficulty this time, although I was a little happy when she seemed to understand me again, running to a corner of the room before returning with what looked like a vase and a metal cup in her hands. "Here, Ayin." And with a big smile on her face, she complied with my request, then handing me the cup after filling it, just for me to do the biggest disaster when I dropped it all over her as I didn't seem to have any strength in my hands, not even to hold something so simple. ... However, instead of getting mad at me, she seemed to be apologizing again while saying thousands of words, of which only Ayin was the one that I could understand... "... It's okay..." Yet with difficulty, I told her, holding the hem of her skirt to stop her when she got up. "Can you... help... Ayin with... this?" Using the word she was calling me all the time, I asked for her help again, staring at her as I said that before allowing my eyes to go to the cup on the floor, not very far from us. And so, with another smile on her face, she soon helped me again, holding it all the time while I took small sips of the drink until I was no longer thirst, and curiosity arose in my mind about who was this child, that so far, didn't seem to scare me at all. ... Even if it also could be too early to think that as she returned with two towels in her hands, one to dry the bed and the other to herself.
