Chapter 8 Ridley I held his hand as we strode through the house. The sun was still high, but it was well past lunch, which we had skipped. His father and Chelsea were somewhere in the house, though I didn’t look around too much. We passed his family crest on the front door and we headed down the hall. For years, I’d fantasized about Carter and now, here we were. My heart whispered we were a dream come true. We passed my room and Carter directed us toward a hall I hadn’t explored and then opened up the last door. His room was huge. The bay windows showed the brightness of the day that almost blinded the blooming fields. The red of the sky and sun was still bright.
