I was standing in the center of a circular room. The low lights cast shadows upon the stone walls. In the distance I could hear a faint dripping as if I was underground in a sewer of some sorts and there was a faint scent of blood.... human blood.
Then it was as if I was being pushed from the room. I was moving effortlessly through a maze of halls, everything a blur. Left, right, freeze, back, right, right, left, right, freeze once more.
The room I stood in now had a platform near the front. On that platform were three throne-like chairs with high backs. Sitting in those chairs were the three leaders of the Volturi. Aro Caius and Marcus.
I turned 160 degrees only to see Tyler, two of him. The one on the left looked normal but the one on the right had flawless pale skin and blood red eyes. He was standing straighter then his other more human self. I could tell he wasn't human because he didn't make breathing motions with his shoulders, there was no heart beat to be heard and there was blood trail along his lips.
Between the two Tyler's stood Felix. He stood in place as if he was waiting for something to happen.
I kept my eyes on the human Tyler. He looked confused, scared.
"Why would you let this happen to me Renesmee, I thought we were family." His voice echoed itself.
I wanted to reach out to him, to apologize but I couldn't move a muscle nor could I speak. I kept thinking over and over of how sorry I am. I thought about how I warned him and told him to turn away from it all but he just kept coming. I wanted to scream at him and tell him that he promised not to ever leave me but I couldn't do any of it. I was useless.
Then I heard him screaming and I finally found my voice and legs, only I wasn't moving quick enough. I turned my head and saw as two of the Volturi guards were racing to my side. They were faster then I was. I was in their clutches before I could fully take my first step.
"NO! Leave Him!" I screamed.
Where was my dad, my mom. Certainly they should be nearby, they could save us. They could fix my mistake and make everything better. I called for them and they appeared only they were laying in a pile of dismembered limbs. They were dead. Then one by one the rest of my family appeared in the same way making the pile bigger. Once all my members were there it caught on fire.
"Renesmee." I heard Tyler groan and I glanced up just in time to see a Volturi member sink his fangs into his neck.
In the next half second I watched him be released and saw his body. Before he fell to the ground his body seemed to evaporate into thin air.
"TYLER!" I screamed.
The guard members who had me released me and I crumpled onto all fours where I began to weep. My family was gone, my best friend was gone. I had nothing left.
"Renesmee." It was Tyler's voice calling out for me only it was different, more musical like my parents.
I glanced up as saw Tyler discarding the familiar body of Jamie. She was pale and lifeless. I knew he had drank her dry.
His mouth turned up in the corner and he flashed his teeth before letting a growl rip through him.
"You smell sweet." he smirked before he lunged forward towards me. Before he reached me he froze and the room began to shake angrily. The ceiling and walls around us began to shatter and fall.
"Renesmee! Renesmee!" It was Tyler's voice only it seemed so distant.
I looked up just in time to watch helplessly as a large part of the ceiling broke away from the foundation and began its quickened descend towards me.
"Renesmee!"
"No!" I screamed as I opened my eyes. My arms shot up instinctively as if to shield my head from something.
"Renesmee." It was Tyler's voice and it was so close and so comforting to hear. Only then did I realized I was really in my room and Tyler's arms were around me. His human arms.
"Oh Tyler." I cried as I threw my arms around him. "You were dead, they killed you and then they made you kill me. I was so scared. My family was gone, they killed them too. Then the room began falling in on me." My words came out in a jumbled mess.
"Breath Ness." He comforted. "It was just a nightmare, nightmares can't hurt us."
When my breathing finally calmed down I noticed I was shaking. The nightmare had felt so real.
"I was so scared." I told him.
"I know, you were screaming in your sleep. I'm surprised your parents didn't come in here. That was what I was most afraid of. I mean imagine what your father would do if he caught me in the same bed as you." I felt him shiver beneath me.
I smirked. "You don't need to worry about him hearing me scream, these rooms as one hundred percent sound proof as long as the door is closed." I paused. "And yes I would be afraid of what he would do to you if he did find out. I'm sure I could persuade him to spare your life though." I teased.
"Some dream huh?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "The worst part about it is that I never forget a single thing. I will have this nightmare perfectly stored in my mind for the rest of my life."
"What was it about exactly?"
"I really don't want to talk about it Ty." I rose to my feet and took a step towards the staircase only to have him grab my hand.
"I know it was about me because you kept saying my name. I want to know."
I pulled my hand from his grip. "The Volturi killed my family and then made you one of them. Then they made you kill me as a punishment."
I heard him take a quick breath before he pulled me into his arms. I used my strength to slip from his grip and flee downstairs. I needed to get my mind off of it. A bath should do.
"You should go to your room before my parents find out you slept in here last night."
"How would they find out?" he called back.
"My parents know everything, don't ever doubt that." I responded as I headed into my closet to get clothes for the day.
I waited for him to leave the room and close my door before I went to the bathroom and began my shower. Just like I hoped it helped to ease my mind and relax me, especially with the expensive lavender rose body scrub aunt Alice had ordered from an expensive store in Poland while she was gathering new items for her store.
Once I was dressed and my hair was pulled neatly back I headed downstairs to get some breakfast. Jake was there, staring blankly at his plate at the far end of the table. Tyler was sitting opposite end, closest to the door, filling his plate. Matthew and Penelope were sitting in the middle talking about yesterdays party to Leah and Seth who were constantly trying to bring Jake in on the conversation, with no luck.
I grabbed the spot beside Tyler and made my plate.
"I was thinking maybe we could get off this island for a bit. Maybe do some normal teenage stuff like store hopping at the mall or see a movie." I said before spearing a piece of egg with my fork and popping it into my mouth. I liked eggs.
Tyler shrugged his shoulder. "I guess, but we should ask your parents first."
I sighed. "Why ask when we could just sneak off."
I already knew the answer my parents would give me if I asked. They would say no, especially after the incident with the Volturi.
"Er. Nah, I'd prefer to have permission."
I stabbed a piece of egg more fiercely then needed and shoved it into my mouth. Where was Tyler's rebel side, did he even have one?
"I heard the words 'sneak' and 'island' in the same sentence, what's the plan?" Matthew said as he popped over into the seat beside me.
I shook my head. "There is no plan Matt. I'm not going anywhere because Tyler doesn't want to."
"Is Tyler your boyfriend?" Matthew teased.
"Absolutely not!" I snapped back defensively.
Matthew moved between Tyler and I and put his arm over his shoulder. "So you and my cuz eh?" He teased.
"Uhm.... There is nothing going on between us." His voice was uneasy.
"Her reaction states there is." Matt said in a singsong voice.
"I swear Matthew if you don't shut up right now." I warned.
Matthew moved to lean cooley against the table. "Okay, whatever you say. Beside the point I think we should sneak off the island. I want to check out the ladies and my dearest baby sister wants to go shopping."
"I'm not going if its just going to be us three. I'll go only if Tyler goes."
"It's not like he can't say no. I mean us three against him, we can carry him if it came to that." Matthew teased.
"I am not going to man handle my best friend Matthew." I rolled my eyes. I looked at Tyler and grinned. "But he is right and you know that."
"Okay... I'll go. But only to keep you out of trouble."
I laughed as I rose from my seat and gathered my dish. "What trouble can one girl get into in Seattle." As I headed towards the kitchen I already knew the answer. I just hoped it wouldn't get that bad.
