Chapter 2

1782 Words
It’s been a week since Maxz shared everything with her family. But no one knew about this Pureblood Vampire. Even the Vampire Clan only knew that there was a Pureblood but didn’t know where they were. Maxz felt sad and anxious. She didn’t know where to run in order to find her. She couldn’t just overturn the earth just to find her. She’s not that heartless to destroy humans. She sighed as she looked up at the sky. The sun was up but not too hot. She was sitting on a big rock under the tree. It was located near the cliff where she could see a vast ocean and the beautiful scenery made by God. This cliff was near the ocean and made up of stones. She didn't know what was down there but she always heard many noises of different animals. She didn’t have time to find out what was hidden in these rocks. Maybe they’re dangerous or not, she didn’t have a clue. After the war between witches, it became her resting place. She didn't know why, but this place was pulling and comforting her when she was stressed. “Just like what I thought! You’re just in here.” A small voice up the tree woke her up from her daydreaming. She looked up and saw a child sitting on one of the branches of the tree while munching on the bloody feet of an animal. “What are you doing here?” She just glanced at her then looked ahead again. She’s not in the mood to play with the child, her niece—Marie. “Did you forget?” “Forget what?” Her mind was really running around. “About our meeting. Duh!” Maxz knew her niece would roll her eyes again. She didn’t mind though. “Sorry, I forgot.” “Just like I thought. So, when are we going?” She asked while munching her lunch. “I’ll just wait here until you sort your mind, even though Mom was calling for us.” Maxz sighed and said, “Fine!” Marie grinned and jumped off the tree. She held onto Maxz’s wheelchair and let her aunt sit there first. When she was okay, Marie touched Maxz’s shoulder. Using the latter’s power, they were carried through by the wind. Marie couldn’t clearly see everything because they were traveling so fast. It was faster than any vampire and anyone could say that it was teleportation because of its speed. In no time, they arrived and Marie jumped like a child. She’s happy doing it. “Can we do it again?” Maxz smiled at how cute Marie was even though she was older than her. Marie was bitten by a vampire when she was eight years old. After that, she never grew older. She was thrown to the Abyss because she killed humans before because of hunger. She couldn’t control herself and killed them. She’s just a child but to their law, she still needed to be punished. Sky helped her in controlling her hunger and used her body so she could get back to Earth. They also adopted her because, in the eyes of the others, she was still a child that needed her parents to guide her. Sky, Cloud, and Laxy were the best things for that. When they got to the sub-building of the organization, they saw Sky talking to Aly and Mika. Maxz heard it and it was about a mission. “Maxz, good to know that you come,” Sky said as she approached them and kissed their cheek. “Sorry for being late. I forgot about the meeting.” Everyone could see how devastated Maxz was, so they didn’t comment about it. “It’s fine.” Sky walked inside the meeting place first. The couple also greeted them before following Sky inside. When Maxz got inside, the other was already there. It was a monthly meeting to know how they were doing and their clan. To know if there’s any problem and how they will solve this, or maybe it is connected with any case they were handling at the present. Sky sat down on Laxy’s left while Maxz sat down on her right. Marie was on Sky’s side and was followed by Bea, a siren, and a witch named Sid. While on Maxz’s side were Aly and Mika, followed by Ruth. Aly was a hunter while Mika was a vampire that became a couple, and Ruth was a werewolf and mated to the Vampire Princess. They all met up in school for creatures like them. Their bond got thicker when they started to train together. Their friendship was really admired by many because they trust each other. “Let's start!” Sky opened the conversation. “Okay, I will say first.” Ruth stood up and continued, “We encountered some rogue but we can handle that. Our problem now is that our population is getting bigger and bigger. I like to get more income by investment. Any suggestions?” Ruth before was a Beta and became an Alpha after her former Alpha got to prison. He helped the black witch Tessa in the war against good and dark witches. He got caught because of treason and was in prison in a new cell made by Cassandra. So that's why Ruth makes all the decisions right now, even though she’s young like them. “You can invest in my newly made resort. I will send you the papers and check if you like them. If fast investment, maybe Laxy can give you a hand,” Maxz said and looked at her twin. “Sure. Just go to the office. My secretary will do all the process.” Ruth nodded and was grateful to the twin. “I am fine even if my people don’t like and want me. You know the reason why. If money, I am fine with what I have now. I live alone so everything is on me. I am a little tired because I just finished my concert. That’s all,” said Bea, who sexily sat on a chair. She’s a singer by profession and has millions of income every time she appears on stage. “For us, my father needed a new investment for his research and other business. Also, you know the reason why he couldn’t afford it by himself.” Sid shyly looked at them. He sighed and continued, “Actually, our business got bankrupt because of my other siblings. He got addicted to women and gambling.” “I can help you and also invest some money. Can I do that, Mom?” Marie asked her mother, who agreed with her. Maybe Marie has a child appearance but she’s way older in mind and age, so Sky didn’t oppose her. “Our businesses were all fine. You know how Aly handles things. We also brought a new hospital. You know, for the blood,” Mika said while smiling. She was sitting on Aly’s lap all this time. Aly remained quiet because that’s how she was. But being a hunter, she needed to contribute too. She said, “We have a small problem with some vampires. Many humans were missing and then the next month they showed up again but not themselves anymore. They’re already vampires. The newborn vampire is increasing their numbers day by day. You already know how newborn vampires are hungry for blood. That’s what we are facing now.” They all listened and read the document Mika distributed to them. Aly continued, “We talked to the Vampire Queen Liana, the one who’s ruling them now, but she said that she didn’t know anything. Although I can see that she knew something, I can’t force her to spell it out. So, we need to double our security because we can’t say if they’re our friends or enemies. But I can say that their Queen is a rational one. I saw how she handled her people.” They all nodded. Mika looked at Sky and said, “Sky, we need another batch of dust and weapons. We need it for the newborn. I heard you improved it, right?” “Yes, we did. I’ll just send it to the headquarters. I can’t make my cousin tired, can I?” Sky teased Aly before she became serious. “And also, please remind your hunter to be careful who they’re attacking. The other day, some hunter ambushed us and we almost killed them all. I already investigated it,” she said then distributed another file of the report. They all nodded and no more complained. Everything settled just like that. They really understood each other and no one complained. “Oh, it’s my time.” Maxz laughed softly but sighed at the end. “I don’t have any physiological problems, but maybe you can help me, Guys. I have been looking for a clue for a week but I can’t find anything. I am tired and sleep-deprived.” Maxz massaged her temple because of tiredness. “Clue about what?” asked Sid. “For my mate,” Maxz said and looked down before taking a deep breath. “I need to find her and all I got was a clue.” “Why don’t you use your instinct and sense of smell to find her? We werewolves do that in finding our mate, and that's the way we can find them,” Ruth suggested. “Yeah, I know. But it’s not that simple and it’s different. I don’t know where to find her because my senses were blocked by something I don’t know. But she gave me a clue when I saw her in my dream,” Maxz explained while looking at them. “Oh, how sweet! If she can visit you in your dream… Wow! It only means she’s powerful enough for her to do that.” Bea also said her point of view. “Yeah, she is,” Maxz said with a smile. She's proud of her mate. But even her smile, tiredness, and sleeplessness could still be seen on her face. “What's she said?” Mika asked this time. “I don’t know if it is a poem or a riddle, but it goes this way…” Maxz told them the riddle and looked at their appearance before continuing, “That’s what she said. Have you heard of it?” she hopefully asked them. All of them thought about it if they heard it or what. But only one gave her a reaction. “I think I know what it is,” Bea said.
