My Crippled Alien Mate

Chapter 3

Everyone looked at her, waiting to hear what she would say next. Maxz’s face lit up because, for the first time, there was hope for her to see her mate.

“Under the water, under the land, is the first line of the first stanza of a nursery rhyme the merpeople used to sing. But I can’t remember the remaining lines. It is for the mermaid so I memorized it by reading it as a poem and I easily forgot it.” Bea thought for a while but she couldn’t remember the continuation. Mermaids and sirens were taught different things and ways from each other. Mermaids could sing a healing song while sirens sang a poisonous song. That’s how opposite they were.

“Can I go inside your head to look for it?” Even though Maxz was excited, she was cautious on this matter.

But Bea glared at her and then pouted. “Don’t ever, as in ever, do that. Give people their privacy!” She flipped her hair like a diva.

“That’s why I am asking you if I can. I didn't do it on my own,” Maxz answered.

“No need. I already remembered.” Everyone looked at her with tension. A mate was an important role for everyone, particularly for Maxz. They’re excited to know who she was and where they can find her.

“Where, Big Sister Bea?” Marie raised a question. She’s eating another meat and they didn’t know where it came from.

“It is actually a poem that only the royalties can learn. The princess learned to sing it so they to memorize it easier. We were always asked about it so we needed to study it when we were young. And only our kingdom has that poem,” she said with a smile on her face. She looked like a person in a daze while remembering her past.

“Quick! Tell us the story!” Mika exclaimed in excitement, and she sat up straight.

“As I have said, the first line of the riddle is the first line of the poem. Its title is Hidden Paradise. I don’t know if it truly exists because no one could tell if it is true or not. The royalties only knew about that, some got curious and traveled to look for it but no one came back. In the end, they hid this poem for the safety of the other people. Nevertheless, it is our treasure, so royalties still needed to memorize it somehow. And we can’t tell it here because as I have said, it is a treasure,” Bea said.

“So, it means that Maxz needed to go to your kingdom in order to know the whole poem?” Sky worriedly asked as she looked at Maxz. “Because we all knew that mermaids won't go to the land if it is not important,” she added. They all nodded because they all knew how mermaids were.

Without thinking, Maxz decided, “I will go! If I have to travel to the bottom of the ocean, I will. I will do anything just to find her. It is not only for being my mate but also for my life, too.”

“Okay. If that’s what you want.” Laxy supported her because she was right.

“So, when are we going there?” Maxz asked and looked at Bea, anticipating.

“Can you travel underwater?” Sky asked Maxz

“I can use my power,” she confidently said.

“No! You can’t find the entrance with that. Only people like us can enter the portal and also those pirates who have a pass. I can’t bring you on my own because you can’t see it. The only way is being carried by the pirates on their ship.” Everyone was dumbfounded by what they heard.

“There are still pirates in this modern world?” Mika couldn’t believe it. She’s human before and just bitten by a vampire that’s why she became one. And pirates are just a story for kids.

“What? Pirates were always there, they never vanished. They just hid so no one knows about them.” They realized that what existed before was still there, it was just hidden.

“So, when can we get a ride?”

“Maybe a week or so. I have to contact them and reserve a ticket. Just prepare all the things you need and I will tell you when.” Bea paused and hummed. “It will take us ten days before we get to the portal but it is the safest way.”

“It’s fine if it takes long days as long as she’s safe.” Laxy decided for her. She’s also worried and she knew her mom will decide the same thing she did.

“Okay. I will do all the process and you will just ride. Prepare all the things you might need.” Maxz agreed.

They stopped their meeting there and went to their businesses. They also received some missions, some of them went there.

Maxz went home to get some sleep. Now that she had some idea, her mind needed to rest too.

Cassandra didn’t ask her and just let her rest. Laxy already notified them about the development of finding her mate. Maxz only has a few months left before her twenty-second birthday. They’re happy knowing there’s a chance for Maxz to survive.

Sky went home to make a magical pouch just for Maxz. She knew that her best friend really needed it. This pouch has space magic that Maxz could use in carrying all her belongings.

The whole Knight family prepared things she might need on her trip. From foods, clothes, and weapons that she can use to protect herself and survive.

Maxz slept for the whole day, so when she woke up she was hungry. Cassandra prepared food for her to eat and nourish herself again.

“Maxz, I asked around about the Alexandrinus last Queen, but no one knew about them. Even the Elders don’t know about them because she’s low-key. However, the current Vampire Queen might know something but her lips were sealed. But she reminded us to prepare ourselves because big changes will happen.” Maxz stopped eating and looked at her Mom.

“I think she’s right, Mom. According to Aly, many newborns were being born and it was alarming how they got bigger.” Hearing this, Cassandra realized that it was not simple anymore.

Cassandra was in a trance for a few seconds. Maxz knew she called the family using the mind link they have. So, she ate faster and drank the potion provided by Sky. It will replenish her strength after a day of sleep.

One by one, the family showed up and greeted them. They all went inside the study to talk about what was happening in their surroundings, and all the changes that were happening.

Cassandra told them what they observed and knew before they made their own move. They couldn’t be idle because it seemed harmless for now. No one knows the real reason for this change.

“I will strengthen the Guards of the Domain.” Even Lucia came to this meeting.

“I will meet with other Alphas to warn them. It is better to be careful now than to be sorry later.” Cassandra was looked up to by all Alphas, so she had a voice to tell them what to do.

“The organization will prepare too.” Fara became the vice-chairman after performing great achievements this past year. Her brother and Andrea’s mate, Cato, was the Chairman of Hunter’s Organization. Hunters made by humans were different from the hunters made by werewolves. They have their own rules but one goal, to help their people who are in need.

“My company will make a precaution,” Laxy said and the other siblings agreed.

“Same with us,” Sarah decided for both the Realm of the Witches and the hunter.

“Maxz, don’t worry about us. Just do everything to get your mate,” Sky said to Maxz who was quiet the whole time. She’s worried and doubtful if she has to go or not.

“Yes. We are powerful too, you know. Just believe in us.” Gale also joined in the conversation.

In the end, Maxz nodded and let them plan. As Gale said, they can do anything too.

After the meeting, Sky pushed Maxz to her room. She wanted to talk to her about something and didn't want to offend anyone.

When they were inside, she cast a spell that made the whole room soundproof. She still did it even though she knew the family knew about privacy.

“Maxz, it’s not that I don’t believe in Bea. But what if she’s wrong? What will you do, Babe?” She used their endearment to convey that she was just worried.

“No, Sky. I can feel that I need to start there. I am ready to do anything just for me to find her. I love her, Sky. I will do everything in my will just to be with her.” She told this to Sky with a happy smile on her face.

Sky knew she was not faking it. Maxz was really in love with this woman.
