Monday afternoon at three o’clock, John and I, along with the other associates gathered in the fourth floor conference room.
John sat beside me in the front row.
“Are you nervous?” I asked.
“Not really. I think it will turn out okay, no matter the choice. I’ll be fine.”
I watched as Mal and Carly entered the room. Carly sat at the end of the front row with her iPad at the ready.
“Good afternoon, everyone,” Mal said. “I’ve gathered you all here to make a few announcements. First of all, congratulations to Tess Wilkins and John DeWitt for making the cut. You both proved yourselves to be capable and responsible employees of this company. That being said, Tess has decided to change departments to work with Allison Myers in Finance as her junior analyst. Congratulations, Tess.”
