Like a frozen scene in a film, the actors stood rigid, no one able to move, least of all Daniel. When at last he saw Dad"s face splitting into a wide grin, he whooped with joy and rushed into Dad"s arms, hugging him tightly. Despite the bumps and bruises that littered his frame, Daniel clung on, allowing relief to wash over him, making him giddy and light-headed. Tears stung his eyes, but he didn"t care. Dad was here! “I"ve missed you, Dan!” his dad breathed. Daniel couldn"t speak, tears tumbling down his cheeks, his throat tight with emotion.
