Daniel sat in the back of the taxi, gazing out of the window towards the steps. The scene echoed the one a few short weeks earlier when they had first arrived. Müller stood there again, but more frightening now. Behind him was Martha, as silent as stone, wringing her hands, looking troubled. Daniel didn"t speak, averting his eyes to look through the tress to where the lake was. His ankle throbbed. He flinched as the car door opened and he turned to see Müller extending his hand to help Aunty Flo. She looked around, her face lighting up. “Oh, Daniel!
