Jack Coming home had changed. Instead of coming home to eat, shower and sleep, I was now coming home to someone. Suddenly it was exciting to return to the house, to climb up the stairs, to knock on her door. She was sitting on the bed against the headboard with the laptop balanced on her thighs. Phoenix was lying beside her with his head on a pillow, wearing a blindfold, looking completely content.
