It’s amazing how your life can change, when you meet one person. Everything about them drives you wild; their smile, their laugh, and the way they look at you with those piercing deep blue eyes when you say the wrong thing and even their touch that sends shivers up your spine. All of the sudden I felt a strong grasp on my wrist, which pulled me out of my day dream; the touch was all too familiar and made my skin crawl with goose bumps.
“Jenna!” I heard a familiar voice yell, “You were gone for almost twenty minutes and I was starting to get worried.” It was Michael. I turned around and my jaw dropped. He looked mad. His usual deep blue eyes were dark, and his jaw was tensed up. His grip on my wrist tightened and he started to yank me back towards him.
I yanked my wrist back from him and rubbed where he had grabbed, trying not to cause a scene, I said, “Michael, chill there was a long line.” I watched his reaction. He let out a sharp, deep breath and relaxed, only slightly. I could see his muscles in his arms and jaw was still tensed up. His eyes were dark. I took in a sharp breath and said, “Go back to the movie Michael, I’ll be right there,” I said as I stepped toward the counter and ordered a bottle of water and a popcorn. I could hear him take in a sharp breath and his footsteps fade backwards towards the theater. I drew in a deep breath of relief. I pushed my dark brown bangs from my face. I could feel myself start to relax…
*Flash Back*
I met Michael backstage at a Purple Tonic, I was lucky enough to score back stage passes thanks to a radio contest. Purple Tonic was a small town band that made it big. It was me and 10 other girls, who I didn’t know except one; Layla. She was my best friend and we both took turns scanning the radio and checking web sites to see who had tickets. I remember walking into the room; we had our arms locked, as if we were afraid to lose each other. My gaze met Michael’s right away. I felt my cheeks go hot as they flushed a slight shade of red as those deep blue eyes locked onto my bright, baby blues. I flashed him a nervous smile and quickly looked down at my outfit: dark jeans, purple high-top converse and a hoodie, my typical go to outfit. My curled dark brown hair shaded me form his glance for a few moments. I looked back up and smiled nervously again. Could he really be looking at me? I was always the kind of girl that blended into the background.
I was pulled back to reality by a voice behind the counter. “Miss, here’s your popcorn. Enjoy the rest of your movie.” I looked up and mumbled something as I was still dazed about my flash back. Those eyes. They aren’t the ones I have seen today.
I started to head back to the movie when I turned a corner and suddenly felt strong hands wrap around my waist. I was pulled backwards towards tall figure. As I was pushed up against him, he moved his head, so his lips were at my ear. He breathed lightly next to my ear.
“Michael, I was gone for like twenty minutes. Stop fool-“ I was interrupted by big, strong hands covering my mouth. I could hear whoever it was shushing me. I was pulled towards an unlocked closet. My eyes grew big as I was being dragged backwards. Once we were in the closet and I was let go, I just started talking, “I don’t know who you are or what you want, but…” My mouth was covered again.
“Jenna. Hush! It’s me, Liam.” I let out a sigh of relief. "Liam? What the hell are you doing here? You scared the living hell out of me!" "Listen, I need you. I regret every single day that I see you with Michael." I looked up at him. He had a concerned look on his face. My blue eyes looked confused up into his brown eyes. I inhaled sharply and let it out slowly. "What are you talking about? What about that one girl? Uh... What's her name again?" He looked at me, pleading with his eyes. I tried to ignore his look. "Listen, I really need to get back to the movie, Michael was already mad that it took so long at the concession stand. Text me later?" I gave him a sympathetic look as I got up and walked to the theater.
“He’s not right for you Jenna!” I looked in his eyes, they were distraught. I turned around and ran up to him. I quickly shoved a handful of popcorn in his mouth before he could say anything else. I didn't want to hear it from him right now.
“We’ll talk later Liam.” With that I quickly turned around and ran back to the theater. I found Michael in our seats in the back. I handed him the popcorn and quickly nuzzled up to him.
“Jenna,” He whispered. “Why do you smell like Liam’s cologne?”
My eyes widened in panic.
