“Alexander, please... I know you can. But it’s not part of the deal.”
“Uh-hmm.”
“Then can you send those back?”
All items from the store were delivered right away. It had not even five minutes long when we came home and then five personnel from the store came. They left me in shock after they put all boxes in the living room.
I’ve been trying to explain to him I don’t need a lot of clothes for ninety days. I’ve been pleading for him to return those.
But he’s just looking at me as if I was joking.
“Those are for you, moya milaya... And I don’t return the things I buy.”
“Then make an exception this time.”
“No.” He leaves me and goes into another room, which I follow.
“Why not?” I ask, while looking at what he’s doing.
“Cassidy, don’t you still understand why I am doing this?”
“Huh?”
“Alright, let me get this straight. If my family finds out that I spend too much for my girl, they would think that I am really into her.”
“They will only think of me as a gold digger.”
He takes a deep breath. Maybe trying to calm himself. He’s probably annoyed because I kept asking him.
“Alright. If you don’t want to wear them, just keep them. If you still don’t want to, then either throw them away or burn them.”
By doing that, he’s just wasting his money!
“Fine.”
I go out. Heading to the living room.
Now, standing in front of the boxes that are piled next to the sofa, while holding my two hips with a frustrated look. My mind is about to explode thinking about what to do with the clothes.
“God! These are all expensive. Yet, he just wanted me to throw them away or even burn them?
Is he crazy??
No. He is a billionaire. My other side responds.
With no more words, I grab the two boxes and go to the wardrobe. Then go back and take two more.
Alexander hasn’t come back from the other room yet.
Ugh! I hate him!
A few moments later, only three boxes left. I deferred from transferring the remaining and go to the kitchen to get a glass of water.
“Why do I even make a fuss about it? He bought them of his own accord.”
I should not make it a big deal. Once the ninety days are over, I am no longer his concern.”
Heaving a sigh while going back to finish where I left off.
“Oh, god! This is heavy.” Mumbling under my breath.
I was unaware of Alexander’s presence near me, which surprised me when I almost hit him with the box I was holding.
“Let me help you.” he says while taking the boxes.
“Alright. Uhm, thank you.”
A couple of hours later...
We already had our lunch. Alexander ordered our food and we’re currently in the living room.
“Your mom is so beautiful and young. You two can be called as siblings.” I told him while staring at the photo he emailed.
“Mom would surely love to hear that, since she cares too much about her looks. She loves people complimenting her. Well, she does a lot to keep her skin good.”
I guess that’s what most billionaire women do. Keeping their selves young and beautiful.
Anyway, we are sitting on the couch facing each other while I am using his personal laptop to open my email. And him checking his phone.
My phone is not in a good condition right now. She was so sick of me, so she retired.
Let’s just say that I accidentally dropped my phone an hour ago. I was busy stuffing the clothes in the wardrobe, and I was going to grab my phone from my pocket because Anj was calling. I have a customize ringtone for her so I know it was her. But the jinx was probably on me as it fell on the floor and I even stoop on it when I off balance, caused me to fall and slid down along with the boxes.
So yeah, that’s the story why I am sitting in front of him, with a slight sprained ankle as well, in case I didn’t mention. But I can still walk.
I glance at Alexander, and he’s busy on his phone typing. Taking it as my chance to stare at him. Secretly eyeing his very defined face. His jawline is well-formed. His thick brows and kissable lips. I couldn’t help but to remember our very first encounter in the club.
I don’t realize I am obviously staring at him with my palm supporting my face as my elbow on my leg. Like a child so amused at the sight.
“If you want to kiss me. Just do it moya milaya.”
His voice breaks my chain of thoughts about him.
Instantly, I avert my gaze and deny what he says.
That’s embarrassing! God!
He chuckles but never leaves his eyes on his phone.
Forcing myself to get back to the email I was reading earlier and Alexander indeed emailed the data about his parents and grandparents. Also, he mentioned he has a brother, but he didn’t include.
“Uhm, can I ask?”
“Go on...” He then stops from typing and looks at me with a piercing gaze.
I clear my throat before I start.
“You said you have a brother. Where is he now?”
“He’s currently studying at The University of Chicago so he’s staying in Illinois.”
“Oh... Uhm, how old is he? What’s his name?”
“He’s twenty-one. And he doesn’t want anyone calling him by his first name. So once you meet him, call him Hans... That is short for Handsome.”
What?!
I couldn’t hide my reaction. He saw me snorted. That’s not a very feminine move. But that’s something I didn’t expect.
That sounds funny to me!
But I am twenty-one, too. So maybe I can get along with him once we’ve met.
I suppress my laugh and ask him again.
“Okay? So what is his name then?”
“Andrae...”
“Alright. Noted.” I get back on reading the email while jotting down those important things about his family.
So far I have learned his parents’ favorite past times, their birthdays, and their favorite food. Based on what Alexander said, his grandfather’s temperament is not usual and even if he’s dying, he still has his ways of intimidating and scaring people.
I c**k my head when he stands up and puts his phone on the table. He then reaches the laptop I was using and put it beside his phone.
“Wait, I am not done yet.” I complain while leaning back, trying to evade his assault.
“You have a lot of time for that, moya milaya.”
“What do you want us to do, then?
“Kissing...” What?
He’s telling that as if it’s just a normal thing to do. Well, maybe for him, it is. But for goodness’ sake! Not me!
“Wait! As in now???!”
I can’t believe I ask that. Yet, he only smirks at me, then proceeds with his plan.
My silent protest has slowly faded when his lips crash to mine and shortly after, our lips become busy.
“Hmm... Where have you been all my life, moya milaya?.” His eyes clouded with many emotions.
“I’m sorry, what?”
A smile slowly appears on his face, and it reflects into his eyes when I ask.
Until it turns into an impish look while his gaze is lingering longer on my face and on my lips.
He is so damn close. I gasp when he lifts me up while careful not to hurt my sprained ankle.
“What are you doing?”
He’s carrying me to the room.
Oh, no! Dear Lord, please, not with what I am thinking... I am not ready for it. My silent prayer.
“I want to erase that red on your face, so let’s practice.”
“Wait, what-??! -Practice! What?” I am stuttering those incoherent words within his arms while my so red face is making me more embarrassed.
“Moya milaya.. I’ve been trying to be so gentle with you. Yet, you keep me pushing to the edge. You don’t know how--“
He pauses as he heaves a sigh. A few seconds later, he puts me on the bed.
Does he really have a habit of not completing his sentence?
“Alexander, what are you trying to do?”
The sly smile on his face tells me no good. “Are you ready?” He asks.
In just split of a second I am under the duvet and pin it tight in my body trying to hide myself. Not minding the jolt of pain in my ankle.
His laugh already put my face to even more reddish. I should have never agreed staying here.
“Cassidy...”
“No!”
“Should I force you?”
“Oh, God! Please, don’t!”
“Hahahahaha!”.
His laugh is booming inside the room.
Jerk!
*******************
“So how’s your stay there? Did you guys do the home base already?” Anj was so excited to find out.
She has been bugging me to tell her everything since I came.
I’m in the StarVIP club right now and just done serving the clients. I still have four days left before my resignation takes effect.
“We didn’t get there, Anj.” Rolling my eyes at her.
“Aw... that’s so disappointing.”
“What? Do you want me to go all the way with him??”
“Why not? He is your boyfriend, and he is so hot as f**k!”
“Are you really my cousin??”
“Come on, Cassie. Don’t be too naïve.”
“I am not! I just don’t feel doing it. Besides, we’re not re--“ Oh, s**t!
I almost spilled her the secret.
“You were not, what?”
“We’re not going there! I mean, you know. You can’t force things to happen.”
“Why do I feel like that’s not really what you were trying to say?”
“I’m sorry to disappoint you, my dear cousin. But that’s what it was. Anyway, shall we not talk further about it? You know, our relationship is still new so we’re still on the stage of knowing each other.”
“But did you and Alexander kiss?”
“Shush, Anj!” Quickly stopping her. Relief to see Grace coming as it's my chance to avoid Anj series of questions.
“Hey, guys! Do we have a party here?” says Grace.
“Well, Grace we do! Can’t you hear the loud music? This is our party. In fact, you are invited!”
The sarcasm in Anj’s voice annoys Grace.
“Whatever, Pronius!”
“It’s Protius!” Anj grumbles.
“Whatever! Pronius, Protius, just the same.”
“Enough you two.” I quickly interrupt them when Anj is going to retort back and it would only go to a heated conversation.
These two can sometimes get along with each other well, but a day or two later, they’re barking at each other.
“A customer is coming. I’ll take it.” says Anj.
“No, I’ll take it.” says Grace.
“Stop! What is really going on with you two?? You know what? I will take this. You--- Stop bickering.”
I leave them quick and approach the customer.
“Hi, sir. May I take your order?”
“Hi, I’d like two orders for drink number seven, same with number nine all on the rocks, and then one for snacks number five, please.”
“Alright. Anything you want to add, sir?”
“No, that would be all.”
“Okay. Coming right up.”
I hustle into the Drinks’ Counter to get his two Boulevardier cocktail and Vodka Martini, and then to the Food Counter for his Nachos.
After serving his order, I go back to the back bar. Joseph is there as well. He is the main bartender.
I’m roaming my eyes around the place and see many people inside, enjoying their time while talking with their friends and lovers. I would surely miss this lively place.
Earlier, Reezo drove me here, but I told him not to pick me up and I’ll just book an Uber once my shift is over.
Then I suddenly remember Alexander when I see a man who almost looks like him. Having same body built.
“I wonder what he’s doing now.”
“Who?” my boss asks me.
He’s leaning on the wall as he also surveys his eyes in the crowd. He was not there earlier.
“Uh no one.”
Hugo didn’t know about me and Alexander yet. And I don’t think Alexander had told him. But maybe he already had an idea.
“Boyfriend?” he asks as he sits beside me.
“No.”
“Ayt... Uhm, Cassidy, uhm, I know I agreed on your resignation, but if you will change your mind or if you want to work here again, I am just one call away. You’re still welcome here.”
“Thank you, boss.”
“No problem. Anyway, how’s your mom?”
“Oh, she’s recovering. The operation went well and I’m hoping she’ll recover sooner.”
“She will. Based on what you told me, she is going there. Your mom is strong and she will get back on her feet sooner.”
“Yeah. Thanks.” I smiled at him..
“I need a gin martini with a gibson.”
My mouth agape. What the EF is he doing here?!
