He nodded and left. He was my beta, but he was also a good friend of mine. We grew up together. His father was the beta of my father. It went like this for centuries. My bloodline took the Alpha position sometime in the 12th century, and his bloodline has been our beta since then. He's got red hair and blue eyes. As a beta, he was tall and muscular. His wolf matched him. He was a huge red-colored male. His name was Tyler. We went through a lot together, and honestly, he was the most loyal wolf in the Blue Blood Pack. “Ashton, get the warriors ready. We are going out in half an hour.” I mind linked to my Gamma. “Yes Alpha.” I stood up and went to my room to get ready. Every warrior was there already when I arrived. When we reached the side of the forest, we all shifted and ran inside. I wanted to get to the border quickly. Actually, I wasn't at ease. I didn't know why, but Noah wasn't calm either. I hoped that if there were some rogues, we could make them leave just by showing ourselves. We were the biggest pack in the Scottish Highlands, and that was also well known. We were the strongest too. When we reached the border, we caught some unfamiliar scents, but we didn't want to attack as long as they were outside of our territory. We ran on the border line just to see if there were any rogues trying to enter. In a minute, I noticed that Noah had started to run faster. He left the border, and headed back into the forest. “Noah, what the hell are you doing? Go back to the borderline.” He didn't answer me, just ran like he'd gone mad. “Stop body, what's wrong with you? Talk to me.” As soon as I finished this sentence, I could smell it. It was so sweet. It was a scent that made all my nerves eagerly want to go close, just like Noah. “Caleb, that is our… “ At that moment, I could feel a sharp pain in my neck, and I fell, badly hit by a tree. When my vision got clear, I could see three rogues approaching. I mind linked for help to my warriors, and I could hear them start howling to give me a sign they were coming, but the three rogues jumped at Noah at the same time. I could feel his pain, I could feel their sharp teeth enter into our flesh. One was biting our neck, the other tried to rip a huge piece out of our stomach, and the third one did the same on my back. Noah had no chance to escape. He cried out in pain, just like I did inside of his mind. Tyler and the warriors arrived at the same time. The warriors ripped the rogues into pieces in a few seconds, and after Tyler got rid of one too, he ran to us. He looked at me frightened. He shifted back into his human form. I did the same, just to feel the pain with more intensity. He mind linked the border guards to bring a carriage quickly. They put me on it, and Jason followed me, holding some clothes to my open wounds, trying to stop the bleeding. "To the hospital, quickly." He shouted, and I could feel the carriage start moving. I tried to call Noah in my mind, but I could only hear him whining. Could it be? No, that just cannot happen. He cannot die until I'm alive. I felt that death would come soon, but I wanted to tell my wolf a few last words at least. For some reason, that conversation was in my mind that we had last night. When he said he wanted to find our mate, I had a sense of guilt. I indeed should have tried to find her, if he wanted that much. I promised if we are going to stay alive, I'm going to try that for him. While my thoughts were on my wolf, Jason rushed into the hospital with me. He was mad, he ordered everyone to focus on me. He shouted to the healers to make me feel better, to heal me. He promised that they were going to lose their heads if I didn't survive. Finally, they put me in bed. I started to feel that my spirit slowly leaving my body. I desperately tried to call Noah to have a last word with him, but he stayed quiet. I could hear some female voices around me, and I turned my head in the direction of the door, and what I saw made me feel numb. That was the moment when I was sure I had died, but for a reason, maybe the Moon Goddess decided to send me into heaven, because there was an angel. She stood there and looked into my eyes. She was the most beautiful angel in the world. As I looked into her green eyes, I didn't feel the pain anymore. I heard a female voice again, but I couldn't understand what she said. I was lost in my angel's beauty. I tried to keep this picture with me, then an unknown power pulled my eyelids down, and I got lost in darkness. Aurora - Saving the Alpha He closed his eyes, and I was still in a daze. I heard Sister Anne's hysterical shout, but I felt like I couldn't move. The beta's angry growl was able to pull me out of this daze finally. I just realized the seriousness of the happenings. I was panicking. I was sure he was going to die, so I knew what Sister Anne wanted me to do, I had to bring him back using my power. But I have never used that before. I could feel that it was in me, but I never ever tried to use it. "Don't just stand there, save your Alpha." The Beta came to me and mercilessly held my neck, it made me scared more. I shivered, I tried to avoid eye contact with him as that was unrespectful, but I felt his strong and painful grip even more. Lowering my head in this position just made me feel more pain. "If you don't save him I'm going to rip your head off myself, am I clear?"
