Chapter 16

CHAPTER 16

"Is there any problem? Any thoughts that are bugging you?" I jumped a little when I heard Wyatt's voice.

I held my heart as a sign of surprise in his sudden appearance, I furrowed my brow at him, what? I can't really fool him, huh.

"I'm really fine and nothing's bugging me," I said while looking at him innocently, I have to act well, I don't want him to know what I'm really thinking right now. It so stupid of me, he might think that I'm thirsty for him and it's a shame. I just can't help but think that he regrets it may be because he doesn't like it and you wouldn't regret something you like.

I shrugged and just get the apple on the center table. He's just watching me and looking at me intently like he's trying to figure out what's wrong, I acted normal so he wouldn't sense something. It's fine, I also think that the problem is really on me, I always give easily to him, just one touch and I'll be under his spell.

That's not his fault anymore, if he regrets it then I shouldn't let that happen again, maybe he just carried away and he didn't really want that to happen, it's my fault that I let him do that, if I really have the courage to stop him then it won't happen.

I smiled at him, "You should go back there, you're friends are waiting for you," I said and swallowed hard, he's not listening to me. I sighed heavily and bit my apple, acting like he's not there and not minding his presence.

He looks at me darkly, "What are you doing?" I said as he walked towards me, I don't want to be near him in a small place, I don't want that to happen again, it's making me feel like I'm desperate and hungry for him and I don't like it.

"Why the f**k are you stepping back, what the f**k are you doing, Anica!" his voice thundered in the kitchen, I don't know if it's heard in the living room but I hope it's not, we're making a scene in case of that.

I coughed a little, "Wyatt, you're overacting, you're towering me so I had to step back, and besides, we're too close if I won't," I muttered but I think I chose the wrong word because I saw him clenched his jaw repeatedly, he's controlling his emotion.

"What's wrong if we're too close? What's the problem? You have to tell me before I lose my damn patience," he said frigidly.

I smiled at him, "Wyatt, there's nothing wrong, by the way, can I ask?" I said politely.

His forehead wrinkle, he linked his lips and nod, he didn't say anything but he looks damn frustrated while looking at me.

I bit my lips, I'm still hesitating to ask him cause it's about Krypton, he looks familiar to me and he seems close to Helena, I also think I already saw him but I can't remember when.

"What?" he asked with his grumpy voice.

"Hmm, is Krypton studying in Manila? or is he staying there?" I asked curiously.

His turns darker and he took a step forward and in a snap he's here in front of me, eating my personal space. I gasp at what he did, he held my waist tightly.

"Why?" he said emphatically, he made it sound like I'm not allowed to ask that.

I tried to step back but his hand on my waist is very firm, his crumbled face filled with anger? He can't be jealous, right? I'm just asking.

"What, why?" I asked with my furrowed brow. I acted like I'm getting something on the refrigerator so he would let me go but he didn't, he even held me tighter.

"Are you attracted to him, huh, Anica, that's why you're being cold to me," he said, his voice is full of accusation. I rolled my eyes at him, when I saw someone will head here in the kitchen I immediately pushed him.

It caught him off guard so he quickly fell in the table, my eyes widened as I helped him get up, he glared at me, "What the hell is your problem," he said angrily.

I bit my lips when I saw Krypton, he looks at Wyatt whose now holding his hips because it hits on the table, I felt so guilty so I just look down. I didn't mean to push him that hard but I just don't want someone to say we're public display affection.

"Are you okay, dude?" Krypton asked but Wyatt just remain with his cold and dark face, he's looking at Krypton with his angry eyes, he clenched his jaw and glance at me, my lips parted as I realized what he was thinking, did he think that I like Krypton?

"I'm fine," he coldly said to Krypton.

He sounded rude, I look at Krypton whose now frowning while looking at Wyatt, I'm sure that he heard the tone of his voice, he took a glimpse of me so I smiled apologetically at him but I heard Wyatt growl so I immediately turn at him.

He's looking at me like he'll explode, I blink for how many times, Why is he so mad? I'm the one who should be furious right now! I rolled my eyes at him.

"I think you have a love quarrel so I had to go outside in the living room," Krypton said nicely.

My lips parted, "Oh, no, we're not quarreling, do you need something? Water? Food?" I asked politely.

He bit his lips as he looks at Wyatt, I look at Wyatt too and he's not looking at me anymore, he's staring outside but I can clearly see his clenched jaw and his furrowed brow, I'm so sure that he's listening.

"Just water," he simply said.

I nod at him and get him a glass of water, when I gave it to him I took a chance to stare at him, he really looks familiar to me, he smiled at so I did the same. When he finally gets out I look at Wyatt.

He's now leaning on the sink and staring at with his deep-set eye, he looks so intimidating and dark.

"Really, Anica? You have to talk to him like that?" he said and scoffed.

"I'm just being nice, Wyatt, he's a visitor," I gritted my teeth.

"You're flirting to him, the way you smile at him—"

"Really, Wyatt! You're being so illogical, again. I can't just do what you did! You sounded so rude to your friend, you have to apologize to him!" I exclaimed.

He looks away, I saw his mouth automatically pouted while looking away, he can't act cute to me like that! Especially when we're arguing over something! Damn it.

"Why are you asking about him? Why are being cold to me all of sudden? You just met him and you acted like this, what do you what me to think?" he murmured.

"Wyatt—"

"You don't want me to behold you nor to be close with you, you pushed me when he enters the kitchen, do you like him? I hate the way you smile at him, do you like him because he's taller than me? I can easily beat him!" he said while pouting at me like a baby.

I sighed and exhaled deeply, he's too adorable to handle, my heart can't take it, it's too much!

"Is it bad to ask? He looks familiar to me, I think I saw him somewhere, and for hell sake Wyatt, I don't like him," I respond. He's thinking too much.

And the reason? Because Krypton is taller than him? I wanted to laugh so hard. I suppress my smile, geez, Vilmaris.

I think Krypton is 6'2 in height while Wyatt is just 6 flat. I'm contented in Wyatt's height, it fits on me.

I chuckled when he crossed his arms over his chest, he looks like a child sulking over something.

"You're being too ridiculous, Wyatt, really? you can beat him, hmm, he's your friend," I said while looking at him playfully, he stood properly and walked towards me, I want to step backward because of my own reason and agenda so I did.

He frowned at me, "See, you're damn avoiding me," he said emphatically.

I shrugged, "I just want my personal space, Wyatt, you're just over-thinking," I muttered at him.

He shook his head, "I know when you're lying, Anica, you can't fool me," he stated.

I just beamed at him, "Go back in your friends, I'll just call Daddy, he called me a while ago but I was asleep that time, it can be urgent," I said to stop the conversation.

He grabs my nape and kissed my forehead, "Don't like him nor anyone, don't be cold on me, stop acting like this when you're meeting new people especially a man," he whispered softly but his voice is too serious. There's no humor in his eyes, he's looking at me intently.

I smiled at him, "If I'll like someone then I'll tell it to you so you won't have to guess it," I murmured.

His hand on my nape pulled me closer to him as he bit his lips, "That's not a good joke, Anica," he said as he scoffed, I'm making him upset, huh? I chuckled.

"Just kidding," I said and embrace his waist, I rested my head on his chest, if you just know why I am avoiding to be close with you, you're making me crazy, Wyatt, so damn crazy.

I felt him kissed my head and it stayed that way for a minute before I finally let him go, he frowned at me, I just chuckled.

"Go, they're waiting for you, you're staying here for too long and please, apologize to Krypton," I told him seriously but he just tsked.

I shook my head as I watch him walk outside, how can you make me feel this roller coaster emotion, Wyatt? You're making me lost my sanity and I don't know if I like it or not.

"Love can be vicious without a label, Anica, it's like knowing your rights or do you even have a right to begin at," Helena said as she went inside, she gave me a meaningful look.

"Are you suggesting something?" I asked.

She shrugged and sat, "Nah, I'm just saying how caution it is, I can even read you, you're full of doubt and it's making you so confused right now," she plainly said.

"I'm just going with the flow, I'm just enjoying the thing as for the moment," I muttered and sat in front of her.

She shook her head, "You're being toxic then, so after this you'll just leave him, you seem so sure that you'll end everything here," she said.

I bit my lips, "I'm not even sure if he really likes me or it's just an infatuation, I'm not ready to risk my heart for another heartbreak," I mumbled.

"Then you're willing to hurt others just to save yourself, hmm," she's looking at me boredly but she's very attentive to every word I am saying.

"That's not it, if he's still into me after this then I'll continue it, I'll risk it," I stated.

"You can't risk with someone you're not sure about, it's like putting yourself in a show without knowing what to do," she said.

I frowned at her, "What is your point really?" I asked.

She chuckled and stood up, she walked towards me and sat beside me, she rested her head on my shoulder, "I want you to protect yourself, but I don't want you to hurt others intentionally in the process, I want you to be the 'Perilous Sea' I was talking a while ago, I want you to show off, show what you got cause you're shining, Ate, you're shining so bright and I don't want you to waste it." she said it in a very sincere way.

It made my tears stream down my cheeks of a sudden, I bit my lips as she held my hand, she's not looking at me but I can feel his extreme emotion, she's too much.

"Helena—"

"You're doing great this past few months, sometimes, the more untamed you are, the more you became so dangerous and people are afraid to something minacious, use your anger to built yourself in a better way, turn your anger into courage, we live only once and you'll have to nail the happiness you deserve," she kissed my hand.

"I always got you, whatever happens, if everything felt so dark and excruciating, you just have to think that I'm here to emphatize the sorrow and grief you're feeling, don't forget me, you have me and no matter what how hard to live in this dark mysterious life you have to keep going," she said and held my hand tightly.

I bit my lips to suppress a sob, my heart is throbbing in pain, she's killing me with her kindness, she's killing me with her love and that's the most painful part of having her, she's so good to be true and no matter what I do I can't just stop my tears.

"Helena—"

She faced me, her serious eyes met mine, she wiped my tears, "Don't cry, always remember that I'm your sister even if the world turns upside down," she said.

I beamed at her and pulled her, I embrace her tightly. I'm so sorry, my baby, I'm sorry if I became so selfish and insecure.

She pulled out when her phone rang, she immediately stood up when she saw the caller, she kissed my forehead before she went outside.

Who's that? Dad? or Zenos?

I smiled genuinely as I went to the living room, they all look at me as I went outside with my jolly face, I'm so happy, my eyes met Wyatt, he's looking at my face or into my eyes, is my eyes swollen?

"Hmm, sorry, I'll go to my room," I said merrily. I run towards my room and giggled, I can't express it with a word but I just felt so, so happy.

I'm ready to sit when someone knocks, I pouted and open it, Wyatt went inside, I look at him in confusion.

"What?" I asked.

He sat on the bed and he signals me to come closer, I walked towards him, I stopped in front of him but a meter away.

He's looking at me intently, when he noticed that I'm not moving any closer he clenched his jaw, he put his right elbow on his thigh and rested his chin in his right hand while looking at me with his intense eyes.

"Why are your eyes swollen?" he asked emphatically.

I smiled at him, "Helena and I are already okay," I said happily.

He nods at me but I can't see any emotion on his face, it's just blank.

"Then why are you acting like this?" he asked.

I frowned at him, "Acting like what?"

He sat properly and gritted his teeth, "Playing numb, huh, it this what you want? then I'll give it to you," he said coldly.

I bit my lips and felt the sudden change of my mood, why do you have to ruin my mood right now, Wyatt?

I forced a smile on him, "You can do whatever you want," I said without any bitterness.

Helena is right, it's really confusing.

He nods at me and stood up, he left and I'm just watching him.

The more you understand the value of life, the more it's getting easier.

When dinner came they're still here, I can still hear their voices, Helena's sleeping again beside me, she really looks so tired.

I went outside and I bit my lips when I smell something very familiar to me, seafood! I stop myself at the urge of running to the kitchen, they are all in the kitchen.

I'm slowly walking to the kitchen to peek at them, I'm hungry already. I'm taking my time not to get caught when I heard a voice.

"What are you doing, Oceanna," I stood properly and look at Krypton, I smiled awkwardly.

"Hmm, I'm just taking a.. glimpse," I said, I pouted when my stomach made an awkward sound.

He chuckled, "You're hungry, hmm," he said teasingly. His vibes are the same as Saweas.

I scratch my nose, "The food smells delicious," I said.

"Until now you're still a sucker in seafood, Oceanna," he said.

My eyes widened, how did he know that? How?

"If you remember last year, you forgot your wallet, I'm the one who paid your bill," he said.

My lips parted, "Oh gosh! That's why you're familiar!" I exclaimed.

We both laughed as we reminisce it, "I'll pay you," I said but he just shrugged.

"You're sister already did," he said.

"You're close to her?" I asked.

He nods at me, "She's my baby," he said.

I look at him with so much confusion, "What do you mean? Zenos—"

He shrugged, "Don't tell me you don't know that the engagement is canceled?" he asked.

"I know that, so it means you're in a relationship with her?"

He smirked, "He's my baby, a sister, I liked her before but she rejected me," he said.

I laughed, "The usual," I said.

"She's cruel—"

"What are you two doing here?" A deep frigid voice soothes my ears.

I look at Wyatt, he's now looking at me darkly, he's fuming mad.

"We're just talking—"

"Really," Wyatt's voice is full of sarcasm, I sighed and look at Krypton whose now looking at Wyatt, he smirked and shrugged.

"I'll go in the kitchen, I thought you already fix your quarrel," he said and shook his head but he has this playful smile.

I look at Wyatt intently, he's so rude! What the hell!

"You're now mad because of what I did to him, huh," He said coldly.

I rolled my eyes at him, "Why are you acting like this? I'll understand if you're just being cheeky at me but you're being rude to others too and he's your friend,

you're being too much," I said while looking at him with disappointment in my eyes.

"I don't want to be either, but you're making me—"

"Mad. I'm making you mad again! I wonder how many times I made you furious without me knowing what I did wrong, you get angry in something I don't about," I exclaimed.

He clenched his jaw, "Because you're being too insensitive," he said plainly.

My lips parted, "I'm not, you're just making something that will make yourself angry," I muttered at him.

He looks away, "Right, I'm just making myself angry," he said, I exhaled loudly. It's very petty but we're still fighting over it.

"Join us, I'm sure you're hungry," he said but he's being distant, I can see that he's putting boundaries between lines.

"I'll just wake Helena up," I mumbled.

He nods and walks inside the kitchen.

I shook my head, I never been this stressed when I'm in a relationship with Bon, maybe because we have proper communication and we have the same personality, Wyatt is my complete opposite in everything.

We don't share the same vibes, we're just too different, and it's making think, how can we make this work if we're not yet in a relationship but we're already fighting on the things that petty.

I smiled bitterly. I went inside and sat beside Helena, she looks like a baby, she's sleeping peacefully. I tapped her cheeks lightly, she frowned and move a little, when she opened her eyes she smiled at me.

I combed her hair between my fingers, "It's already dinner time," I whispered.

She sat down and look at me intently, "You okay? You look problematic," she said.

I smiled at her, "Just a little fight, we just can't understand each other," I mumbled at her.

"You want to end it, don't you," she stated, I look at her with my doleful eyes.

I shook my head, "I don't know," I whispered.

Helena nod at me, "It takes time, maybe you two have to cool down first, you cannot put more fuel on something burning, it will just explode." she said.

I sighed and stood up and she did the same, she followed me to the kitchen.

"Oh, Oceanna, Helena, join us," Freinds politely said.

I smiled at her sweetly, "Thank you," I said.

I sat beside Wyatt and Helena sat on my right side. They're talking about something but Helena and I are just silently eating.

"Do you remember Kristine? Geez, she met Salejo last week!" Esmira said while pouting.

Eastan frowned, "He's not that handsome," he said, they laughed at Eastan.

"Dude, accept the truth, he's very handsome," Freinds said while chuckling.

Eastan tsked, "I heard your crush went to another country," he said teasingly to Freinds.

Friends rolled her eyes to Eastan, "My boyfriend, Eastan, shut the hell up,"

"Assuming," Esmira whispered but all of us heard it. They laughed as Freinds pouted and frowned.

"I saw Donovan last night with Belva, they're making out," Esmira stated.

"They're really together? I thought that was just gossip," Krypton said.

"Belva is damn hot but I prefer Belvi," Exmiel said.

"I love Belva so much," Freinds stated.

"Belvi and Belva are one of a hell twin, they're slaying so much, no wonder why Donovan fell to Belva," Esmira muttered.

"But why did he brought Belva here? He built his island for his ex, right? Isn't it awkward," Freinds said.

"You're right! If I were her I'll found it even disgusting," Esmira murmured.

"He already move-on so maybe that's why," Exmiel said seriously.

"Even so," Esmira said sarcastically.

"Donovan's ex-girlfriend is already dead, Esmira. Don't tell me you want Belva to be jealous of someone dead," Eastan said.

My lips parted, dead? She's already dead? Heisha is gone already?

"Yes, she still has a right to be jealous cause Donovan loved that girl so much and there's a possibility that he's still into her," Esmira said frigidly.

Eastan smirked, "She's dead, Heisha is dead. Belva is the one who can make Donovan happy, she can make memories to him, she can make him forget her, she has all the time in this world, she just has to fight the urge of jealousy to someone dead already,"

"If you keep reminiscing the past you'll never be able to move-forward, Esmira, Eastan is right, she just has to go on, Donovan is ready to share his life with her so that's maybe the reason why she bought Belva here because its part of him," Exmiel explained.

"I don't want to love that way, risking your heart to someone you have no assurance to," Esmira said bitterly, I can hear it, everyone can.

"Love works that way, feelings are sudden, unpredictable and uncertain," we look at Helena when she spoke. She's not looking at us, she's just looking at the food.

"If you're afraid to risk then you wouldn't be able to experience what love really feels like, if you don't want to feel pain then you have stop loving, assurance is just a toxic word that can destroy someone, what assurance do people need? When words and action can be manipulated," Helena said, she looks at Esmira.

"Does the word I love you enough to give you an assurance? Why people are so desperate about that? You want action, they'll show it, you want a word, they'll say it, but where's the assurance that in the future it will be the same? When you ask for assurance and they gave it, you'll consider that as a promise and when they broke it, you'll be damn broken cause made your hope and expectation high when in fact.. without having it can lessen the pain, but you asked for it." I bit my lips as she said it directly at her.

Helena stood up, "Don't ask someone for an assurance, it should be given naturally, but do tell that person to show you his at most love so you could treasure it until it is still you because destiny is too playful to be assured," she said and head outside.

"We're just the same, Helena. You're afraid to risk too!" Esmira shouted, Helena stopped but she didn't turn to us.

"I was never afraid to risk, I already did for too long," she said and left.

Esmira bit her lips as her eyes moisten, she looks very vulnerable.

"I really hate her," she whispered as tears rolled in her cheeks, Freinds tapped her back.

"But you also love her," Krypton said.

Esmira wiped her tears, "Unfair!" she exclaimed.

I look at Wyatt and he's looking at me intently. I smiled at him, do people need assurance? No... but they want it.

You have to know what you need and what you want, the dilemma of love in life isn't just simple as it looks like, sometimes, we didn't know that little things have the biggest impact on our life.
