Camela's POV A knock on the door woke me from my sleep. "Why is someone knocking this early in the morning," I thought, and then I remembered Tiara was supposed to come over early so I could go to the interview. I looked at the clock on my end table and saw it was 7:30 AM. "s**t," I said and hurried to the front door. "It's about time! I have been knocking for about twenty minutes," She said as she walked in. "Sorry! I overslept. I have to get ready for the interview." "Yeah! Hurry. They start in less than thirty minutes," She said, and I rushed to the bathroom. I jumped in the shower and washed quickly. I put my clothes on, brushed my long, black hair into a ponytail, and brushed my teeth. I put lotion on my light brown skin so I wouldn't be ashy and walked out of the bathroom. I grabbed my purse out of my room and walked to the front door. Tiara had just come in the door with a suitcase in her hand. I saw other bags she had brought in while I was in the bathroom. "I will be back after the interview. Liam should wake up soon," I said "Alright! See you later. Good Luck!" She said, and I walked out the door I hopped into my old Nissan that my mom had left me. The drive to Mitchell Enterprise was about ten minutes. Once I arrived, I parked my car in a parking spot and walked inside the building. They made me go through a security check, and then I went to the secretary's help desk. There was a caramel skin woman with braids that was sitting at the desk on the phone. She didn't even acknowledge me. "Excuse me," I said after waiting about two minutes She looked up at me with a frown on her face. "What can I do for you?" She asked with a fake smile "I am here for the Administrative Assistant interview," I said "Of course you are. This is your number. When it is your turn, they will call you by number. Take those elevators to the eighth floor," She said I walked over to the elevator and went to the eighth floor. When I got off the elevator, I was shocked. About thirty people were waiting for an interview. I went to a table with a note saying to take one of the papers on the table, so I took the paper. I completed them while I was waiting for my number to be called About three hours later, I was still waiting. People went in and came out with disappointed looks on their faces. "Number 138," The lady at the desk called. "Finally," I mumbled and walked over to the door. "This way miss," The lady said, and I followed her through the hallway. While we were walking down the hall, a lady with bleached hair and caramel color skin came to view. She had a smile on her face. "I wouldn't waste my time if I were you," She said as she passed by. I shook what she said off and kept walking. She was probably trying to intimidate me. Once we reached the end of the hall, the lady knocked on the door. "Come in," I heard the manly voice say "Good luck," The lady said as I was walking into the office I mouthed a thank you, and she closed the door behind me. I looked at the man that was sitting in the chair. He was looking at his computer and didn't even acknowledge me. "I am going to be honest, so I don't waste your time. I have already chosen the person I feel will best fit this position. So it would be best if we cut this interview short," He said without looking at me. I couldn't believe what he had just said to me. I waited all that time for him to say he had chosen someone. I don't know if it was everything that happened yesterday, the fact that I had a three-year-old to take care of, or that I waited so long for the interview. It was probably all those things, but I couldn't take it anymore. "Are you serious?" I asked "Yes! You can leave," He said without acknowledging my presence. "No, I am not going anywhere. I have waited for three f*****g hours for you to tell me that you have already chosen someone. How dare you! Just because you are rich and get everything handed to you doesn't mean you can play with people's emotions." I screamed He was staring at me, not saying anything. He was looking at me like he was in a trance. Like I was the most beautiful person in the world. I knew I had to be wrong. He was probably about to call security on me at any moment. "You should be ashamed of yourself," I finished and stormed out of there before security could get to me. I walked out to my car, upset. When I got inside, I couldn't help but cry. I cried harder than I had in a while. I missed my mom. When I felt bad, she was the person I could talk to. After I was done crying, I started the car and drove home. Once I walked inside, I saw Liam playing in the living room with his toys. I looked over at Tiara, who was already looking at me. I was sure my eyes were red and puffy from crying. "What happened," she asked, and I told her everything. "That bastard!" She said "I know! He was so arrogant. He didn't look at me until I started cussing him out. You should have seen his face. He couldn't stop staring at me," I said "Really," "Yeah! I think he was shocked that a commoner had the nerve to scream at him," I said, and she laughed. Just then, my phone rang. "Hello," I said "Miss Davis," a lady said "That"s me." "I am calling to let you know that you have been chosen to be Blake Mitchell's Assistant. Do you accept?" I couldn't believe my ears. I thought about everything I had said to him and knew it would be too awkward to take the position. "I'm sorry! I can't accept." I said and hung up the phone. "Who was that?" Tiara asked me "Some lady called telling me I was chosen for the job." "And you declined? Girl call them back and tell them you accept," She said "I can't; they called from a private number," I said Just then, my phone rang again. The name that came on my phone screen was Blake Mitchell. "It says Blake Mitchell," I said to Tiara, shocked. "Answer it, girl," she said, and I answered the call. "Hello," I said quietly. "Miss Davis, this is Blake Mitchell. I believe you remember me from earlier," He said in a manly, husky voice that sent a chill threw my body. "Yes, I remember you," "Good, I want to offer you the Assistant job. I had one of the ladies at the front desk call, but she said you declined. I decided to personally call to offer you the position and ask you to come to my office tomorrow at nine to discuss the position. Pay is negotiated," He said "OK, I will be there," I said "Good! I will see you in the morning. Goodbye, Miss Davis," He said and hung up the phone. I couldn't believe what had just happened.
